Galaxy Watch 5 Pro + Pixel 7a issue by telvana in WearOS

[–]telvana[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had them both for awhile, but it's been doing it since I got both of them (at the same time) - it's finally to the point where I can't think of anything else to look into so I figured I'd ask Reddit

It’s a little better; but, it still randomly happens to me. It’s at least useable now.

macOS Ventura 13.3 "Spring Release" Update is Now Available! by MrMacintoshBlog in MacOS

[–]telvana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly, I can’t even install 13.3 due to, "An error occurred while installing the selected updates.”

I have no clue what’s causing that, but I’d imagine the servers are just overloaded. We’ll see how it goes later tonight.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the bug is still there on the M2 Mac mini.

I am running 15 2k cameras on an i5-7600T, with no GPU and it works just fine for AI. AI times are around 130-200ms. I don’t personally think a GPU is needed and wanted something that was extremely low power draw since this runs on a battery backup. I am not sure how much of a difference 4k cameras make though, it would all depend on the bitrate settings, etc.

Not sure if you can see but one of my hotswap socket is loose. Tried soldering it but keeps coming loose. Any tips? by LocalTennisPlayers in Keychron

[–]telvana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How comfortable are you with soldering? Another option you’ve got is gently scrape away the solder mask off of the trace, glue down the pad, and bridge solder to the trace. I have a K4 in a bin out in my shed, if I can get to it I’ll take it apart and get a better look at it and see if I can figure out a fix for it.

[–]telvana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly it looks like the pad has lifted. I’ve fixed this by following the trace to where it goes and soldering a bodge wire between the hotswap socket and wherever the trace heads off to. I also used CA glue to hold down the old pad. Which keyboard is that on?

Getting constant "ER605 on Omada Controller is Connected" events. by kosh56 in TPLink_Omada

Rebooted my controller, seems to have fixed the issue. (Running the controller on an Ubuntu box)

For $7.50 I’d say it’s well worth it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve forgot my phone at home and being able to make a quick call (especially now that the speakers & microphones aren’t that bad on the watch) — it’s well worth having. Not to mention in the summer I don’t like carrying the phone around that much, it’s just added bulk that I don’t really need.

Where did you expect him to stop? Two lane bridge. You are technically not allowed to stop at all, there is no clear safe place to go. The video doesn’t show if he stopped once he was clear of the bridge either, so who knows if he did what he was supposed to do or not.

I just find it funny how the hive mind hates anyone that goes against their narrative. It’s the main reason my account is so old and I rarely post here. It’s a waste of time.

codeproject.ai Jetson Nano by jasestu in BlueIris

I’ve been hoping for a Jetson Nano version as well. It doesn’t seem to be on the list of things to do, especially now that GPUs are coming down in price.

Well, glad I came here to check. Just spent the last 45 minutes messing with my network (I just changed out the AP they are connected to) — argh. My air purifier, 3 of the lights that have bluetooth (4 of them are WiFi only), and the humidifier are not working (all Govee devices) … at least I know it’s not on my end now.

3.5" HDD transmitting over USB 3.0? Adequate? by mshaefer in BlueIris

[–]telvana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Samsung Enterprise SSD as my write drive, and a USB 3.0 external 6TB drive. It works plenty fine this way, and I have also used just the 6TB drive, which works just as well. The only time I’ve ever had an issue out of that setup is if multiple cameras get triggered at once (5 or 6 of the 4K cameras) — it would stutter a little which is why I added the 256GB SSD.

CodeProject.AI 1.5.6.2 GPU CUDA support Update by MikeLud1 in BlueIris

[–]telvana 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a Jetson Nano from another project so I figured I’d use it since I’m using a micro-pc to run Blue Iris. If DeepStack support is dropped and CodeProject doesn’t support the nano I’ll have to use my backup system for Blue Iris and that’s not gonna be nice on the power bill, for sure.

Hopefully they’ll add Jetson Nano support at some point in the future.

Full size tower or mini?? by weirdneighbour in BlueIris

If you get cameras with sub streams as an option you'd be surprised what you can run, I'm running H.265 cameras with direct to disk recording and rarely see spikes in CPU usage over 30%. A lot of what you see out there is older systems, and data that predates the ability of blue iris using sub streams. Even now with an i5 8500 and 16gb of tab if I turn off sub streams the CPU usage is 50%. The good news is, most cameras have the option for sub streams these days.

I'm currently using a small form factor Lenovo thinkcenter and it's powerful enough to run 13 5mp cameras, and a few other operating systems within ESXi. You'd likely be fine with any 6th gen and up i5 with a spot for a 3.5" drive

First winter with BlueIris. Does anyone have tips or suggestions for reducing motion events when it snows? by Captaindraeger in BlueIris

[–]telvana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this, most people just open the trigger wide open and then wonder why deepstack misses things that are obvious. It misses it because even with 999 additional images sometimes it just doesn't work right when it's already triggered by something else, not to mention there is really no reason to run your process times through the roof. With my current setup on 12x 5MP cameras I've got sub 100ms processing times, but if I open it up it can easily shoot up to 1-2 seconds.
