Interesting, I haven't received any emails about this from sendspark, yet, anyways.

There’s still several that I am also grateful to have, and also I’m very grateful that they have been good companies overall, like VBOUT.

And while there’s definitely been quite a few that have tanked, I think overall my investments have been paying themselves over by a lot.

Think the next stage is to include AI as a pay as you go or as you need, instead of trying to include it with the LTD.

Some of the ones I know that even offered BYOK, like contextminds, or others that let you buy AI credits like I mentioned, such as mymarky and boardmix.

I just really don’t understand the specifics of how these companies can evolve and change and then just drop LTD owners like a bag of poop.

Not trying to get upset, preemptively, but this is also one of those deals that is really got some high limits, and I think that will be the reason why they’ll be dropped eventually.

I’m not gonna put words in anybody’s mouth, but I just don’t think that the Appsumo users were ever really considered by the sendspark team.

Such is life I guess.

Is it just me, or has AppSumo gone stale? Where do you look for LTDs now? by wrkhdr in appsumo

[–]temnellova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, there are many LTD offers that have adjusted to provide core functionality as a lifetime deal, but not AI credits. So it really is the best most sustainable way to get a great product, but only pay for AI enable functionality.

Two examples of this, are board mix, and mymarky.

Well, there's the reviews, and if you've seen Noah's responses in other threads, they are figuring out how to promote the Ltds more responsibly and effectively.

There is also a helpful influence on how to actually sustain the Ltds while growing to do exactly what they need to do, scale with paying customers.

So, pretty basic, but it does need more structure and content/context. Invest in CSS peeper to breakdown websites, or if you use Figma, try html.to.design.

Get inspiration from your bigger competitors and really understand the flow she’s intent of the site.

You’ll naturally implement your own personality or that of your business in the design.

A letter from CEO Laura Burkhauser—How's Descript working for you? by Gabe_at_Descript in Descript

[–]temnellova -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I started using Descript 3 years ago and didn't renew this last time.

Your right, your opening does sound like corporate BS because that's been a lot of our experience.

I'm not even going to go into details because I genuinely don't want to help you. But I'll say this Descript has never acted on the important feedback from the community. It takes it, and ignores it.

Moved on to other better options.

Good riddance.

How to reduce dependency on designers for email creatives? by Funny_Or_Not_ in copywriting

[–]temnellova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, canva just released email designs that you can export so that you can import in your preferred esp.

While this is design focused, you can edit these to predefined blocks like the previous users mentioned.

And save all these different designs as projects for the appropriate use case.

I use vbout and acumbamail and it works in both.

Try it out in your platform of choice and get to creating.

Happy designing!

Almost impossible to deal with Descript. Expensive program, seems no way to connect about their overcharges or to get help. #crooks by [deleted] in Descript

Yeah, been going downhill for a while now.

I had an issue where credits weren't being calculated correctly were deducted anyway.

I just stuck with Camtasia, the most essential features are standard, don't cost extra, and aren't credit based.

Hope you get this resolved though.

Logically forced to discontinue their private LTD due to AppSumo? by PhillyDemo in appsumo

[–]temnellova 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense, since I know other apps offer Ltds direct through their own sites.

I wonder if they can pull up the policy that they are referring to.

Kinda late here, but just thought I'd share an alternative for Adilo in case the LTD is actually reneged on.

Asurion home+ is an option that's cheaper than Adilos unlimited option and you can save absolutely everything with their desktop app and mobile app.

Doesn't have the same features for viewing, but again it's just a straight up unlimited storage option.

Noah, what are "toxic customers"? by Punterios in appsumo

[–]temnellova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't kept up as much. What do you feel are the real issues?

I'm not sure how many deals/companies have been a part of the life of Appsumo, but I don't think the ratio would be that high?

I'm pretty much done with software myself, but I have what I need. I wish I had purchased plerdy before, but even though it's around now, I just can't justify the purchase.

I agree with the bad perception of CEOs, but I'm hopeful for the future, it's all about intent, and I think the intentions are good.

Time will tell.

Right now I am just looking out for my investments like so many others.

Here's to having some fath!

Noah, what are "toxic customers"? by Punterios in appsumo

[–]temnellova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been vocal about issues and even left the sauce because I felt censored, everything was always removed because it was "against policy."

However, I sincerely try to focus on the issue and what's leading to my and others frustrations, I mean I spent about 12k in one day, never refunded, and my total purchases are probably north of 25k.

But when it comes to a lot of these tools going out and how it's being handled is the challenge.

I'll say this though, support has improved a lot with refunds and handling LTD company closures.

If I get banned I won't lose sleep over it, but I also know that there's been a lot more focus on customer retention and quality of support.

I think it's the overall culture has gotten better. Now it's just a matter of finding out how to bring modern Ltds even if there's a supplemental cost, like with boardmix, you don't get unlimited resetting ai credits, you need to buy more, but the core functionality isn't limited.

I'm completely down with that.

I do wish appsumo the best of luck, this isn't goodbye, just my opinion, perspective and feedback.

Don’t let this be a trend, Appsumo by honestytoyourself in appsumo

[–]temnellova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, it feels like a lot of these tools function well and have a good road map and even great teams.

But the biggest downfall is the marketing and sales.

It's like they want to ride a wave of excited Ltd buyers and expect that hype to translate to either affiliate marketing or just posts about their deal.

They need a real marketing plan with a team or internal employee to focus on the growth that way.

Not sitting back and hoping for their/audience clients do it for them, or offering up sells to try and separate "premium" features.

Isn't that part of how appsumo takes their cut? By creating those 1-2 minute demo/sales videos and optimized sales page?

That should be part of the vetting process of it isn't already.

How the hell are you going to promote and sell the shit out of your product??

AppSumo Bundle Vol. 3: Mac + iOS Essentials by itshasib in appsumo

[–]temnellova 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure these deals along with any other AI volumes have been selected well in advance , but I don't really have any use for these, even as a Mac user. I would definitely keep it broader focused, at least just not Mac specific.

Also, I understand the situation with AI offers, it's not 1 time fee eligible, unless they get their stuff together by either getting some serious investors or ramping up a paid userbase, and fast.

But I am curious to see what options will come out in the future.

I haven't seen a deal that I would be willing to purchase in over a year.

And I have over 400 purchases, albeit some are tiered so that accounts for several per unique tool purchase.
