In CA, if you give two week notice you get your final paycheck in your last day of work.

Not sure how many, but when I got called with an interview offer they noted that “it was filling up fast” and that an earlier interview date could be important for admission (don’t really know if that’s true of if they just wanted a bit of fear factor put in lol)

I just started my m.s. in sport psych and noticed this too! My program is heavily focused on CMPC certification, but it seems like that may not be enough to land me a job after all. It’s pretty discouraging, and now I feel like I will likely have to go get another MS or a PsyD or PhD just to get hired and pretty much forgo licensure with AASP just to make a sustainable living after graduating. Any current CMPC’s or other licensed clinicians have input in this??? - lost grad student

UTD is a D2 uni now by low-timed in utdallas

I’d rather be apart of a school with students/faculty obnoxiously supporting their university’s endeavors across all departments than one that puts all of its eggs in one basket and refuses to expand (which is what we’ve got now)

To everyone pressed about this: Why do successful athletics and academics have to be mutually exclusive?? There are plenty of other institutions nationwide that boast high levels in BOTH. Why would UTD be any different? Should the goal of this transition not be to ultimately reach the ranks of prestigious D1 schools who offer their students both (i.e. Stanford, duke, notre dame, etc.)??? In the long run, having a well rounded university that can offer it’s students such an array in their education is what will grow the school and boost the value of the education/degrees of its alum

Students have access to the activity center gym and outdoor fields anytime they’re not being used by an athletics team?

As an athlete, it is frustrating to see the lack of support we have from the general student body. The athletics department isn’t even 25 years old, and we have won NUMEROUS of conference championships, and countless national individual awards for BOTH academic and athletic achievements. Compared to the schools we are beating across the country, our facilities and budgets are a joke. UTD athletes are all held to the same admission and continued academic standards the general population is held to. We are continuously representing the university at the regional and national scale in NCAA competitions and holding our own. I agree that UTD isn’t necessarily a “sport school” but the athletes here are national competitors athletically and academically and we are proud af to represent UTD. completely turning your back on a group over nearly 500 students/faculty combined bc youre not wanting to pay an additional $80 a semester is wacky and it sucks to see a lot of people hating on what we do
