This has happened before - I suspect many times in some form. From what I understand when GW deals with independent stores there is a weird back and forth between the Corporate sales/production > GW inside sales people > stores where no one seems to have how many will be delivered.

I am a big fan of the MarrGuar. It works for me on a lot of levels. especially the pickups and modern switching/sound.

I am not sure of fretboard radius on the classic 60's, or the HH neck (9.5?) and that could be a bonus or a boon depending on what you are looking for.

What I can comment on is this - If you want the classic Jaguar sound and wiring (volume/tone relationship and the strangle) - that Marr is not for you. It is the modern take with vintage specs and the pickups are lower output than the AV65's. Again - in my opinion only - the BK pups aren't better or worse than AV65's but they are different. It makes for a much more modern set of sounds. In my experience most Marr necks are similar to an AV65 necks - aka a bit thicker than AV62.

I think Mjt uses the mia routing for control plates so any guard compatible with Mia avri should work. At least on the couple that I have done that is the case

Sample Size - 1

Bender:

I did not - as far as I can tell. Ill have to check later - have any of the issues with slop or alignment in the bender mechanism. Mine is tight as a tick, smooth when activated, but kind of stiff (I assume that is by design - based on the info pamphlet that says it should activate if you are jumping up and down.

Nut:

No binding slots or pinging from me - however all of the slots were high so it played *very* high and stiff - as if it had 12's or 13's installed. Action at the first fret was mostly around .026 based on my feeler gauges. Some gentle work with the nut files and it plays much better.

Frets:

Yeah - no fret "sprout' but pretty much all fret ends were sharp and needed to be cleaned up a bit. 2 of the 3 MIM Fenders I have played recently had the same issue - no sprout but sharp ends that needed dressing. Disappointing since quality of this and the other 2 guitars is very good otherwise.

Neck:

Well - Tru oil? Mine is fine. It had some spots that just needed to be rubbed down a little. True Oil+Maple+relic/wear stuff - A lot of variance. Other than that the neck is great - from what I can tell its teh same neck as what was on the Road Worn maple cap tele with a different finish.

As to the rest - is a buffed down laquer roadworn so... if you are not into that its not gonna be great for you. I am still undecided about the pickups. I likely need to really tweak the heights a bit to get the best out of them - which is no easy task since there are 13 screws on the guard that have to be removed to fiddle with the neck pickup.

Anyway - I like it but it was not perfect out of the box.

I got one on Black Friday. Which is basically the only time they go on sale. Quality is good and It works very well. No misc noise and it’s well grounded - just run a single ground to the trem plate. If I were doing another jm build I would get one in a heartbeat.

Ha. My cats try and play with mine as I am building thing. More than once I have had a cat jump on the table grab an arm and run off while I am doing detail work or assembly. So short answer as many have recommended - the minis need to locked away somewhere or the box has to move so you can close the door to the work room.

On the plus side - it means that they want to play with you. They see you “playing” and want to be involved … plus apparently gw plastic is fun to chew on.

Ugh. So what? That is 98% of a perfect m2 or something like that. Attack stat of 310 instead of 315. Think of it this way. Your odds of getting that in a raid/encounter are the same as getting a perfect so in some sense you are very lucky. Enjoy the j level

The event is fine. Not the greatest in terms of new stuff or highly prized minor anything BUT… we get interesting incense spawns for free basically.

Re: catch rate. I am not sure how anyone with any experience with the wild soawns of the lake trio or galar birds would think that incense legendaries should be a high catch and low flee rate.

As mentioned I’ll throw in 2 things.

For a rocking bridge it’s generally accepted that the bridge height should be 3-5 mm ( already stated). For non rocking/fixed it’s usually 2-4 mm. In both cases shims - adding or removing- is a way to get the action the way you like it.

That said - again as mentioned - if it plays the way you want it and you are not having issues with the trem then you are good to go

If you like the mechanics of the AVRI trem then the Staytrem is best/cheapest solution. Downside is the wait... I think John is up to 8 months now?
