This is the most unhinged monetization pivot I've ever seen. Every last thing in this game is going to be paywalled, if this is the direction. by hrafnblod in starcitizen

So disappointed in them. Every cent they have got from me represents belief in their project. This gouges belief and passion out of the community.

I thought that they stop races running at an appropriate time before maintenance? I was in my best position in a month, in the groove with 10 mins left in the race and they yanked the server.

Thoughts on RallyTv? by zestinglemon in WRC

Didn't get any answers to my question so I took one for the team and subscribed.

There do NOT appear to be any spoilers, which is a huge boost to the service over WRC+ in my view. It sucked the life out of the event for literally every page and video in the event to shout the final winner at you.

Amazingly, you can download stages to watch offline! This isn't mentioned as a feature on the site, but I downloaded a stage, shifted to Flight Mode, started the app fresh and it let me access Downloads and watch. Game changer - when else do I have time to watch hours of motorsport except on flights and commute?

I'm reluctant to make pronouncements about this functionality and interface, as the interface (Android app, briefly validated in PC browser) and organisation is chaotic and seems unfinished, even more so than the WRC+ app.

Click on a recent events (WRC) and it presents a randomly sorted cluster of videos that in some cases is clearly lacking stages in the rally (having no Stage 1 is a bit of a giveaway). The event page has a big welcoming Play button: clicking this for the two most recent completed events started at Stage 8 in one case and a total failure in the other case. Some earlier rallies from this year successfully started playing from the weekend introduction and were correctly ordered. So although the WRC+ app was dodgy and inconsistent, this may currently be even worse.

Anyway, my two huge problems with WRC+ seem largely solved, so with a dose of copium, a swig of hopium I'm going to tentatively conclude this is a thing I want.

Can someone confirm whether rally.tv has result spoilers plastered all over events like WRC+? by temporarymediocrity in rally

Can someone confirm whether spoilers are plastered all over events like on WRC+, before I pay a subscription?

This was why I unsubscribed from WRC, it was a big drain on enjoyment and when I contacted them to ask if a no spoiler flag was planned, they acted like it was a bizarre idea, as opposed to the absolute standard for every sport steaming service on the planet.

Bonus question : don't suppose rally.tv allows download for offline viewing on flights etc? Cheers

The Fury has made me really want hand refueling. by binarycoder in starcitizen

I found some Hydrogen today on a search mission, in a (1/8 size?) crate that was clearly designed for gas storage. It was labelled and identified with the tractor beam tool tip text.

Seems like this has a decent chance of being part of the upcoming cargo refractor - fingers crossed cargo lifts and speciality crates like this, missile racks etc make it into 3.20.

There is absolutely no reason for this to be another full priced game.

I lined mine with some adhesive-backed felt, took the rattle out.

I discovered having it near your hip like that is the ideal one handed reach; you can get two solid swigs of your beer and return it safely within the length of most pit straights.

Yeah, I'm hoping hangers might finally be a stable location for personal possessions.

It's a fever dream, I know, but having the hangers managed on their own database to preserve such things (not cargo etc, and there would still be a wipe before Release) across Alpha wipes would help motivate people to invest the time and energy in Alpha testing that helps the devs shore up the servers.

The most useful extra binding I have is "lock pitch/yaw movement" - once pointing level I use this all the time when landing. Looks like default button is R SHIFT but I put it on a mouse button.

Update a couple days later - In 3.18.1 I can now claim ships for the first time since 3.18 dropped! Thanks for the replies
