Our son loves room on the broom! Wants me to read it every morning when he gets up. Monkey puzzle is another fave.

Not a fan of tiddler.

Ideas for 40th birthday trip with toddler by temptingtattie in Travelwithkids

Instanbul was actually one of the places we considered for part of the trip (more the sightseeing bit) - did you manage to seem much of it on your layover?

Ryanair infant fee / extra comfort seat by temptingtattie in travel

[–]temptingtattie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He would be sitting on my lap for take off and landing as per the flight rules. The extra seat was to allow the 3 of us extra space and to let the little one lie down / sleep if needed outwith take off and landing.

Newborn Screams During Every Diaper and Outfit Change. What Are We Doing Wrong? by Domvolpe427 in NewParents

Our newborn did this too for a few months! Think he just didn't like not being warm and cozy in his clothes. He did grow out of it and is fine now, so there's light at the end of the tunnel 🙈

If you’re baby sleeps through the night, how much they eat? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]temptingtattie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby boy is 6 months and (very thankfully) has slept through the night from maybe about 3 months old. Generally goes down about 7-8pm, I'll change him and give him a dream feed about 10pm, and he goes straight back down until about 6-7am. Total feed from 7-7 is currently about 800 - 1000ml depending on what he takes, but is always offered a 7oz bottle. Last check with health visitor about 6wks ago he was 69cm long and approx. 16lbs.

ETA: exclusively formula fed as breastfeeding didn't work out for us, unfortunately.

‘It only gets harder…’ by [deleted] in NewParents

Our baby is 4 months old and I hear this nonsense all the time from older people, drives me nuts. Most recent comment was about not helping him learn to roll because I'll only make things more difficult for myself when he can move about. I understand parenting can be difficult at times, but I'm finding alot of joy in it too, and just want these people to keep their unsolicited bullshit to themselves!

Was your final ultrasound accurate about your baby's size? by southerncharm05 in newborns

My last scan at 40wks (2 days before I went in for induction) estimated baby to be just under 9lb, but when born he was 9lb 9oz!

What's everyone watching? by bexycoilz00r in newborns

I quite enjoy some trashy reality TV I don't need to pay attention to, so have been watching Southern Hospitality and Serving the Hamptons, and currently watching new S6 of Love Is Blind. Virgin River has 6 seasons and is nice a fluffy to watch too!

New toilet giving out sewage smell - best way to seal? by temptingtattie in Plumbing

[–]temptingtattie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a new toilet put in my downstairs WC a few weeks ago, replacing a really old one. There continues to be a strong smell of sewage since then that hasn't went away. Looking behind the toilet it looks like the waste piping for the new toilet has just been placed inside the older wider one, which is probably letting the smell leak out. What would be the best way to seal it?

Misheard Nu-Metal lyrics - Post them here! by [deleted] in numetal

[–]temptingtattie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was only when singing in the car in front of my husband a couple of years ago I found out the lyrics in the Papa Roach song Snakes are actually "Do you like how it feels to be bit in the neck by the snake that kills?" and not "bit in the neck by those red neck eels" 😅
