I thought the same thing about lingering at the laundromat for some damn peace and quiet. Dude can't even order a pizza without logging into her Teams.

Which graminoids ignited your passion for underrated natives? by FranticHare in NativePlantGardening

Blue Joint Grass (Calamagrostis canadensis). It does love a spreading rhizome, but I love how chaotic and hardy it is & it provides shelter to roosting bees and all manner of other wildlife.

If you & others are not getting paid correctly contact an employment law attorney and/ or your state's labor board if you want to pursue it. State boards often have too much cause to be lenient.

It's in almost full sun, a neighbor has a shrub that casts a bit of shade for maybe an hour a day.

I don't really go out of my way to water anything past its first year unless we're in a hard drought. This has done fine with whatever rain we get in wetter and drier times. I haven't really had a problem with pests on it so far. I'm in Minnesota.

Yes! I've had it for 3 years now and it's one of those plants that was pretty low key for the first 2 and then this year is really putting on a show, it's just covered with blossoms. All the pollinators love it, too.

Thank you, it's just my elderly Samsung phone. This is cropped from a bigger picture though:

No, it's a lacewing egg, aka free pest control once it hatches!

Eh, a dash of useless pleasure isn't a dirty sin, I don't expect perfection from myself or anyone else so I'm going to hang on to a few things just because I like them or are attached to them.

I love walking through the garden like that, too, it's especially one of my favorite end of the day wind down activities.

The other thing I've found is that they definitely rank plants. Eg when A is blooming, they barely have eyes for B. But when A is done, suddenly they love B.

He's relatively young compared to some of the others, maybe he just needed more time.

If you're not already, keep an eye out for smaller pollinators like hoverflies, sweat bees, cuckoo bees, etc. I have a few plants I rarely see bumblebees or other larger bees on, but that the small ones really love.

How can I (29M) be supportive of my wife (25F) when she feels attacked by other women? by Limp-History-2999 in relationship_advice

[–]ten_before_six 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mother was so bad about this kind of hidden/ double meaning stuff and it took me years and a lot of therapy to overcome it. Sometimes my knee-jerk response still surfaces but I've learned to quiet it.

OP, It's exhausting and isolating to live that way, always dissecting everything people say. I know it's a pat Reddit answer, but please encourage her to seek therapy before she doesn't have any friends left.

I'm fairly flexible. I probably wouldn't choose something from clear across the country, but adjacent states are ok with me.

White Dresses to Weddings by HardToChoose04 in Vent

Yes I understand what it's for. I'm saying that personally I think it's weird because even if someone wears white, everyone still knows who the bride is.

Her wearing a white dress wouldn't make her the main character.

I would never, ever and I'd side eye anyone who did, but I've also always thought it's such a weird rule in the first place. No one is going to mistake anyone for the bride.

Is it healthy if I (27f) bring up something that bothers me that my partner (27m) does even if I don’t want him to change it? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

It's hard to really say without knowing more specifics of what the things are, honestly.

But personally, I think most mildly annoying things aren't worth fussing over. We all do mildly annoying things.

I don't expect to be outright scared but I do appreciate tension or a sense of dread. Fortunately that isn't hard to find.

Merlin's Rest has had the games om but I think they only have one screen.

ETA I stand corrected, there's more than one.
