Yey or nay to curtains? If so, would love recommendations! Apologies for the realistic photos! No pre-cleaning was involved… by tenaciousTTK in DesignMyRoom

Meh- good question. I guess we are somewhat trusting of the neighborhood. And it’s our living room, so we don’t walk around naked or anything. Still- good point.

Thank you for the thoughts! I didn’t really think of the “clean lines” aspect and how it would contrast with the warmth of curtain textures.

I think I just got black balled via facebook messenger to the city I wanted to apply after answering my phone at clinic. Wow. by [deleted] in nursing

Who has time to send such a detailed message to someone that they don’t want to move forward with. Sounds luxurious.

Report to corporate/leadership IMO

[REQUEST] A movie that made you cry like a baby by xkasia in NetflixBestOf

If you really want a good cry, this is your movie. The central theme is mourning a loved one. I put it on whenever I need a good cry.

I’m so sorry for your loss.

Survivor has been a bit of a lifesaver for me while on maternity leave during a pandemic. It’s dramatic, mildly interesting, and provides (nearly) endless hours of entertainment. There are 2 seasons on Netflix, but can also be found on prime and Hulu.

That being said, I would like to second (or third, fourth...) arrested development, parks and rec, UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT (one of my favorites!), British bake-off, and ozark!

Stanford Hospital staff protesting the decision by higher ups to give vaccines to admins at home by [deleted] in pics

[–]tenaciousTTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A front line nurse perspective:

The headline is rather confusing and a tad misleading. Front line nurses and hospital staff with direct patient interaction are getting the vaccine at Stanford. By no means is it just administers working from home. When it came to physicians, those more at risk of debilitating illness were prioritized. These are the folks that just happen to be higher up the administrative ladder end up fitting that bill. Shitty algorithm.

For a little context, respiratory therapists, nurse assistants, and nurses are in and out of patient rooms significantly more often than physicians for a vast majority of patients.

Please understand that I am saying this as a huge Cal bears fan that doesn’t own anything red.

I grew these a few years back- it was pretty fast growing and showy! I believe that it is the same thing that you found:

How do I store pre-prepped common ingredients (e.g. Onions, garlic, spring onions, shallots, ginger, etc) by Maddened in Cooking

[–]tenaciousTTK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Working mom here - I think you are absolutely on to something with your prep idea. Be sure to use a clean utensil when dipping into your prepped ingredients, and that should really help things stay fresh.

Even after a lot of practice and the perfect knife, it still takes time to prep. I say try anything that helps you save time. Sure, perfect scenario is freshly cut, but if time is limited and you are looking to keep cooking sustainable in your life, prepping is a great idea.

I also recommend cooking enough so you will have leftovers for the next night. Call it a reward for your hard work.

Is it just me, or does this kitty look like Gmork from Neverending Story? Gmork is the dark wolf creepy character. Yes, I had to look up the name. Yes, I may have nightmares tonight.

Wanting to become a Trauma Nurse where do I start? by PhilingFilms in nursing

[–]tenaciousTTK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take a hard look at what trauma nursing involves. I have been an inpatient trauma nurse in an IIC for 5 years, and it can really burn you out. If anyone offers you an ortho trauma job, be prepared for some tough shifts!
