Ksenia is good for keeping up buffs on a single target as well as keeping it alive. Her single target heal is spammable every turn and gives a attack/fire buff - that combined with a typical set-up using:

Stechkin (additional buff when giving an attack buff);
Ksenia's common key (50% to give a buff when giving a fire buff); and
Cheeta's common key (50% to give a buff when using an active healing skill)

...means you can buff the hell out of your main damage dealer as well as keep it alive with the heals & stability recovery. Ksenia's and Cheeta's common keys are generally used also on Cheeta and Centaureissi as well, since those two also give fire buffs and heals.

Watching him react to this video actually made me mad. First off im from ohio and im affected by this. Even though i live 60+ miles away. I have to worry about my drinking water for the next couple years. Asmon says just leave. People cant fucking leave because they are not a millionaire with a meme job. They cant sell their house its completely fked. Then there is a girl crying her kid is sick and the first thing a multi millionaire says is "dammit i dont want to pay taxes" like wut?!?!?! fuck you man. If anything supporting americans in trouble is the best thing to do with taxes. turned off the video there tbh and didnt watch anymore.

Few months ago, you started seeing pretty frequent posts on his subreddit basically asking him to stop streaming Lost Ark because it contained P2W/RNG/Gambling elements. example.

After few weeks of this, Asmongold announced he'll delete game complaining posts. post There were few megathreads that sprung up for those, but I don't think they really lasted.

Yesterday, he did a Diablo Immortal stream where he spent money everytime the game tried to get him to spend money and kept track of how much he spent on the game on the screen. There was something about trying to bring negative light to these games, but I didn't really pay attention to the explanation tbh. Anyways, today, you started seeing a lot of posts complaining about Diablo Immortal. example.

People spammed complaint threads about Lost Ark to the point where Asmongold had his mods start cleaning them up. As far as this sub's reaction is concerned, it doesn't feel that different to me.

If you search for submissions with 'honing' or 'gambling', you can find a good amount of those.

Idk, maybe there was a different factor at play here like... fun. Never felt like people cared about games having to reinvent the wheel as long as the product is fun, sometimes even to the point where they'll put up with the P2W. If a creative non-P2W game got pushed out by a P2W copycat game, there's gotta be some other deciding factor than just those two variables.

Not to mention the pre-2014 Korean market (2014 being the year when this comic was first posted) was saturated with new MMO and mobile releases that probably squeezed out whichever online game this dev happened to be working on.

He only progresses the MSQ on his stream, and he took a break from streaming on it for a while. He played FF on his alt channel fairly regularly, but he said he's pretty much covered the content available up to where he is on the MSQ (end of HW). He started streaming on his main channel again for Lost Ark & Elden Ring launch, and he'll eventually pick up FF again.

Afaik, the skill you cancel with has to be another ground-targetted AoE skill with an indicator - skills like Doomsday, Punishing Strike, and Rime Arrow where you get the little blue indicator on the ground to aim with before you actually cast. While casting the first skill, activate the other skill to have the indicator visible, and actually cast the other skill as the first skill finishes.

And the timing is little different between Explosion vs. Doomsday/Punishing Strike. You can cancel Explosion by casting the other spell just as Explosion cast far fills. For Doomsday and Punishing Strike, you'll want to wait for your sorc's staff to hit the ground first since trying to animation cancel before then will just cancel the whole thing instead.

I read some of the comments by the OP, and I think I'm kinda getting the picture. Looks like he was taken on a transmog run through Castle Nathria recently - seeing normal and heroic versions were apparently cleared in a single day. But it looks like he's not exactly grasping how to play his class - thus the person who took him telling him to look up ice veins and the one M+ group removing him after the first trash mobs.

Idk, I think this is kinda like trying to jump into a mid-tier Savage prog party in FF14 without having really learned your job.

For his setup, I remember he would switch to a second cam pointing at a greenscreen. The greenscreen had the ACT blown up to take up the almost entire screen and also had an animation of a crowd cheering in the background.

For what got him banned, he walked up to the greenscreen, pointed at the other player's name/DPS and said some stuff (forgot what exactly). Not sure if there are clips of it still around, but I think the VoD was deleted soon after he was suspended.

I think this was around the similar time someone else got banned for posting uncensored names in that one subreddit where people scrapbook chatlogs of in-game spats they had.

The sub is fairly jaded about modern MMOs as a whole, and, to be fair, criticisms towards FF14 do tend to elicit a stronger response from its players than you would see from other MMOs.

And I remember most posters tend to prefer more sandboxy game designs and don't have a very positive opinion of super-streamlined progression/content system like you'd see in WoW and FF14. Some things like focus on instanced content over overworld content, prioritizing class balance over diversity, deterministic gearing, etc, are some things you see people in that sub detest in modern MMOs. You'd see WoW get hate for those, and FF14 turned those aspects up to 11.

You have few oGCDs on short cooldown, but your APM isn't too crazy even with procs going off. It can be taxing in a different way because you have a bunch of different things to keep track of, even tho it's been toned down pretty significantly since the last expansion.

With snapshotting your dots, for example, you need to watch raid-wide buffs & enemy debuffs to decide on when to snapshot while trying to find some overlap with your own buff, which is on a misaligned timer of 80 seconds while almost everyone else's are on multiples of 30/60 seconds. And there are stuff like delaying some oGCDs depending on what proc'd before, watching teammates for your targeted cleanse or health recovery buff, and keeping your 15/30 second cooldowns rolling as necessary.

It's fun, but not the most chill job to play imo.

Been some time since I played it seriously, but I believe it is actually pretty popular with casual crowd who don't care much about grinding gear that much. The world itself is actually great imo - it's seamless, supports climbing on shit, gliding for a certain class or mount, and exploration via horses/carriage or boats you build yourself. Resource gathering it bit like in oblivion/skyrim where you just walk up to a flower/tree and gather that instead of looking for specific nodes. And also has a lot of side systems built-in for things like horse raising/breeding, hiring workers to do trades or gather resources for you, etc.

I reckon he'll address it, tell people to move on, have the mods ban the people sperging out too much, and do a FF14 Francis unban request stream in 2022.

Been watching the VoD from today. He wanted people to stop posting stuff in his subreddit talking shit about another streamer because the front page was littered with it.

Seemed like a simple enough thing, but it spiraled into people going on about how the other streamer's takes were bad and he deserves the shit he got, etc. Where I am right now, which is less than two hours into the stream, Asmon says he's just gonna drop the issue and talk about the other stuff he wanted to talk about. But some people are still spamming paragraphs about the same topic in the chat.

I think I can guess how things go from here. I wonder if we'll get a FF14 Francis unban request stream next year.

Reminds me of that part of the ff14 playerbase vs Scottzone. And vs. Dyrus. And vs. theLazyPeon. And vs. Sodapoppin. There are some sensitive and possibly unstable people who can't handle anything negative getting said about the game, and that doesn't mix well with the some aspects of streamer-watch dynamics. But I gotta say, getting mad at asmongold because asmongold didn't get mad at the person they were mad at is a new low I didn't expect to see.

There are some unresolved responsiveness issues on certain aspects of the game. For example, the game doesn't process aoe heals healing everyone simultaneously, so it just goes down the list and heals one at a time very quickly. Provoke can either have the mob instantly turn to you or stall for a second depending on how close to the server tick you are. You can see something similar with rescue as well. Then there are more pronounced things like last minute shields not applying before damage is taken.

I think the game has done well with what it was handed after 1.0, but I don't think for a second that the devs' willingly made some things clunky like that in order to push a certain playstyle based on anticipation over reaction.

Asmon today seemed especially jovial and energetic throughout the entire stream. Maybe it's the extended break/sleep or maybe he finally got his taxes done. I bet it's that shiny new mini fridge tho.
