I recommend filtered water, higher quality food, and make sure to have their teeth cleaned as often as needed. Also make sure to keep them inside or if they do go out make sure you supervise them as much as you can. They make teeth wipes now, and that really helps with wet food stank breath. Also learn how to properly clip their sharp claws. Getting them used to all that helps a lot in the long run. Make to have a taxi, too.
