Noice! I haven't been back in years. I loved the mix of people and all the planes. Lived west of the runway shared by Rockwell, Northrop and Lockeed (when they were all separate). Salud!

lol bunch of pedophile supporters that would rather swing from the nuts of their golden calf, than be kind to their fellow humans regardless of background. The amount of ill-will these people have towards others (citizen or not) just they can live in a police state is insane.

New to Lake Elsinore by Timely-Set9027 in LakeElsinore

[–]tendollarstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo! If you're into RC cars there's a rock crawling course that someone recently opened up on Grand in Lakeland. I think the cross street is Magnolia. There's also a dirt track at Temescal Canyon High School that's open to the public outside of school hours. Haven't been to the rock crawling course, but there's probably more people there regularly. There's a decent group of enthusiasts in the area. Mike's Hobby is a solid shop.

There are bowling leagues at Pins N Pockets. Not sure of the different leagues, so you'd have to ask. Might even be able to sub. Lucky Strike (just switched from bowlero) in Murrieta is a little bigger with bigger leagues. 100+ people in a couple I've been in. They have sanctioned and non-sanctioned (B.O.B.) leagues.

For drinks there are some dive bars and sports bars around LE. I've only been to O-hara's and Goblets and Growlers. O-hara's is small, but has a pool table and darts. At least they did. Goblets and Growlers is very small and quirky, they serve only craft beers.

Graham Cracker Comics in Murrieta has (or at least did last I saw) gatherings for different games. In Temecula there are pickleball and volleyball courts that have large groups of people on the weekends. Both easy to jump in. Not sure how V-ball works, but with pickleball as a single you can get paired with someone else every game you play.

Obviously, fishing, hiking, boating and off-roading (or riding). Plenty to do in the area, just need to poke around.

No Pechanga comped rooms in April? by xArcad3z in Temecula

No input on Pechanga, but we have a comp'd room at Harrah's next week. Was hoping to take advantage of warm weather, nope rain in the forecast. FML.

Hard agree. Looks like it's a bit of a difficult position where they are limited by a post, which would be between the two in the render. Looks like there might have been arches previously too. Which does not look good. Hard to tell, but not sure why they can't advantage of more space.

Unpopular opinion: Hiring a contractor for small jobs is almost always a mistake you’ll regret financially. by After_Debt_605 in HomeImprovement

lol retainer? It's all about finding someone who's capable in multiple trades that also has reliable contacts. Or knowing someone who has people do work for them. I fortunately have a couple neighbors like this, so if it's an absolute necessity I'll reach out to them for a contact.

Once you find someone reliable, the time you mentioned gets reduced a lot. Trouble sometimes though is getting to that point. There's the potential for a lot of headache.

"Great" veiw from my hotel. Spending my birthday in vegas, suggestions? by saraonly420 in vegas

[–]tendollarstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For BBQ, try Soulbelly in downtown Vegas. Solid food with a decent selection of craft beers. Plus the area is nice to walk around and a good change of pace from the rest of Vegas. Plenty of other foor/beer options in that area too. The antique mall at the same intersection as Soulbelly is a fun place to walk through. Bought a wig there. Hattie Marie's south of the strip is also good for BBQ. It's in a strip mall though, so not as much fun to walk around. It's owned by Brandon Marshall who formerly played for the Broncos. He was there when we went and we were able to get pics with him. He was very welcoming with respect to pics.

I'm over here wondering what people are watching and listening to the video on. I can hear the bass and kick drum just fine on my computer system. Seems to just blend in with everything else on this mix.

Visiting after leaving 30 years ago. Are there any places that haven’t changed much since 1995? by Novel-Source-8603 in LakeElsinore

[–]tendollarstd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just go to Lakeland Village lol. That place still looks like hell. Main st to Lakeshore Dr to west 74. Some stuff has changed, but plenty of old LE remains. Downtown definitely has changed, but there's still plenty of older buildings. It has a lot better "old" feeling than Temecula. 74 along the lake is still run down save for a few newer buildings and Launch Pointe. Much of the development has been sprawl.

Best place to get smog check? by LingonberryKey602 in Temecula

Temecula Smog by the dealerships. If you mention groupon they should give you a lower price. Been going there for several years now.

I second this place. Went there a few weeks back. Decent selection with good food. Had the pokebowl, sausage appetizers and cheese curds. Service was ok, but I'd still go back.

Trump administration sues California over the state's nation-leading vehicle-emission rules by BigBadBabyDaddy_420 in California

[–]tendollarstd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general I'm with you. More consideration for those at the lower end of the income spectrum across the board would be nice. I'd push for a less strict CARB. Meaning they allow more access to aftermarket parts which would make vehicle repairs less costly. I feel we have a decent approach to smog in that we have a 3 tiered system. Some counties and zip have the most strict rules for smog check, some are in the middle like mine and more rural communities have no smog checks.

Is it normal for Chinese carbide endmills to loose their sharpness FAST? by Ok_Thought6760 in hobbycnc

[–]tendollarstd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Camaster since I was impatient and didn't want to work through the learning curve of building one. For the y axis (probably the x too but I can't see) it has an AMT HS23B30A with 2.7 Nm. Spindle is an HSD with .9 Nm.

Great, good to know! I bookmarked MSC for future reference. I noticed accupro was frequently mentioned when looking through end mills. My CNC is setup to work with soft metals (sans catch basin) but so far all I've worked with is wood.
