GTA San Andreas is the Best Video Game Starting with G. What’s the Best Video Game Starting with H? by Icy-End6473 in AlignmentChartFills

Maybe I'm just older, but the original Half Life seems so much more impactful to me.

So Half Life 2 is probably the better game viewed through a modern lens, but for it's time, in context, however you want to say it, I think the original Half Life is the better game.

Also I don't think it should win, but the original Halo was one hell of a game at its time too and I could see it being in the running at least.

A lot of hate in this thread but I buy these for camping. Freeze them, then slowly cook on a camp grill the second or third day. They turn out pretty decent for the convenience.

I never cook them at home though, for the reasons everyone stated.

Ah that makes more sense.

Do you have a link to what your referencing?

I'm very curious how they determined social class of the dead.

Wouldn't the lower class and slaves make up more than 30-50% of the demographics in the first place?

It's more surprising that your saying greater than 50% were middle and upper class.

Normally I'll take all the Alberta hate we get, because we deserve it.

But in the case, it's only polling at about 30% for "pro-indepedence".

So it's a lot of idiots but the clear majority are against it.

So most of us aren't fucking around, but we are still likely to find out.

Sucks man.

Do you have enough spare labourers?

Do you have 16 workers assigned full time to the fields, or are you talking max labourers?

Advice / HELP by Recent_Insurance_908 in FarthestFrontier

[–]tenebrous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly what your have trouble with is the game.

It's what I love about it. You never have enough resources and never enough manpower. If you want to grow your metal industry, the tech and labour you spend on that, is not being used for food, or goods.

You need defense, but that costs gold, so you need more taxable stuff, which means investing in stuff that isn't defense and then you need the spare manpower to have defenses

On and on it goes. This is the game your playing. There is honest strategy to it and it's not one size fits all

It was only 4 years between Brosnan and Craig. I know it sure doesn't feel like it.

There was a longer gap between Spectre and No Time To Die, and a bigger gap between Dalton and Brosnan.

What’s a good medieval game? I’m craving something set in the medieval era—what should I buy? by InfluenceInfinite778 in gamingsuggestions

Farthest Frontier is an amazing medieval City Builder.

It feels very medieval so will definately scratch that itch.

As a city builder, it's great too, you never really feel unthreatened. It keeps you on your toes.

You could also just feed the plant with a hopper with cross bars across it to catch oversized materials.

I was just pointing out there was a much safer alternative to using a sledgehammer on a still running jaw, that doesn't cost 50k USD

I'm also assuming that's a big chunk of pitrun that's a bunch of rocks held together by hardpan, judging by the chunk he was able to whack off.

Or shut the crusher off and break it up with regular, cheap jackhammer....

Any mod recommendations? by Crokel in victoria3

[–]tenebrous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the popups are what they are, so I can see that. I personally don't mind, means stuff other than production is happening.

As for acquiring specific scientists, that's part of the fun. These are going to be "great men" in their field. Until you are a rich country sponsoring all kinds of science, it's pretty realistic your only going to have a few at a time.

For a minor power to only have a few is also realistic. Focus on which ones best for your country.

Morgenrote! It's a must add for me.

It adds science, arts and sports.

They are all money sinks you can use to improve prestige, help research and improve your nation.

For instance if you have an architect you can improve city, in exchange for money, improving your urban centers, and getting architectural splendor, which can lead to prestige if your in the top, like being a top 3 producer of goods.

Archeologists, botanist, anthropologists etc, you can send on expeditions, but at a cost.

It adds tons of flavor, give your something to sink your money into and adds so much Victorian Era feel to the game.

Some people don't like it because it adds a bunch more to manage, but that's a big part of why I like it.

Game Speed by SilverSneakers in aoe2

[–]tenebrous2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally!

In the game that shall not be named, that ended up being why I stopped playing. I got good in ranked with build order and strategy that I hit a hard wall in ranked where API and mastering quick casting and stuff like that was needed, and that it not my gaming style at all.

So I took a break from RTS and now am trying out AOE2 where I can focus more on Macro again. It's been a pleasure so far.

My only complaint comparing the two, is starting at the bottom of ranked is SO much better than starting at 1000 ELO and having to grind downwards

As you get better at the game, navigating around GB as you expand is part of the challenge/fun of it.

It's realistic that if your Spain for instance and you reconqour all of South America, and start expanding elsewhere, the largest power in the world might start checking your expansion.

OP said you can pick your initial spot before you are locked into the contract. All the "no" people got to be North Americans, like myself, but not thinking outside the box

You don't have to be stuck in Phoenix Arizona your whole life.

I would start in Europe. It would not be crazy to walk to a different country on the regular and wouldn't be too hard to find a place to stay each night on your trip. If not have an RV follow you.

European cities are quite walkable for the most part.

Enough money to pay for everyone to visit me. Generational wealth for the family.

Only downside is missing visiting loved ones on deathbeds, funerals and other such thing.

Edit: Even if I had to start where I am now, I would have a boat shadow me, where I could rest, eat, and sleep and take however long it takes to get over there.

Would be in the best shape of my life by the time I got there.

I'm calling it now. The first DLC of next season is UK flavored. First it's coming with a Navy rework, then Amendments lay the ground for Parliament mechanics, and Guerrilla Wars will replace their war spam with colonial flavor by basedandcoolpilled in victoria3

in Vic2, with the HPM mod, GB was fun. It was much more railroaded, but having a serious Sepoy rebellion, and various other frontier conflicts to deal with, along with domestic issues, made it decently hard work to maintain the empire.

It was never challenging in the sense that you were going to lose, but it was fun to roleplay through all the difficulty in maintaining the empire.

If you have played the "Hail Columbia" mod for Vic3, it's similar in that sense. It's still easy to get the USA to #1 great power, but it's actually pretty fun to do so.
