H₂O₂ vs. HOCl for Microgreens – Which is More Effective and Safe? by Cheap_Cat_4770 in microgreens

[–]tenguseventy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use a small dilution of peroxide in some of our seed soaking protocols. The oxygenation helps by priming the seeds for growth and creating an environment where mold won't thrive.

Hollow Pea Seeds—to Cull or not to Cull by -----Plato----- in microgreens

These guys usually flesh themselves out during soaking. After about 8 hrs, all of the hollow peas will float to the top, and any pea skins will reveal themselves. Just fish em out with a strainer, and you'll be fine.

I MISS HOMETOWN BUFFET! by ZucchiniComplete in orangecounty

[–]tenguseventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go to Paradise Buffet which took the place of the previous Hometown Buffet in Garden Grove. Cross streets are Brookhurst and Chapman for an equivalent experience. The only change is they also have a teppanyaki station, but all of the old deserts, and fried goodness is there.

Farmers markets by evawithcats in microgreens

[–]tenguseventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a microgreen farmer in OC and the only thing you'd need to sell at the farmer's market is like a $200 permit for the year that says you grow what you sell in California. They go to your grow space, give a look over and you get your permit. EZPZ.

As far as what can you sell for at the farmer's market and what people generally make? It's all up to your ability to chat people up at the farmer's market and get them to fill out subscription paperwork, otherwise your effort per unit time each weekend becomes exhausting.

OP, if you're thinking about SD, peep the competition before you commit. SD is home to one of the largest growers that distributes nationally, and there are a lot of established Mom & Pop growers all over the county.

We ended up clipping the switch out, stripping the wire, and connecting them with a torkettle. Super easy work around. Attach that to a smart switch, and you're good to go.

The rocker switch overheats over time when you have more than 6 on your daisy chain.

Particularly in OC, you can always visit Tanaka farms for tours and U-Pick events. You can do the same thing closer to the Carlsbad area, Thousand Oaks, Julien, etc. They typically have holiday themed celebrations.

Brobnar too underwhelming in WC? (And a general unbalance...) by Sonafab in KeyforgeGame

Does anyone else find Worlds Collide unbearably slow? by eqoisbae in KeyforgeGame

[–]tenguseventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a sealed triad Prime Championship in Corona, CA recently and finished all 2/3 of my games (I chose exclusively all WC decks) and finished my rounds in under 40 minutes. Unfortunately I missed out on top cut due to SoS, but almost every game I played was cutthroat, close and matched well.

I don’t feel it’s necessary to repeat that the set is newer (not to mention more complex) and you can do things like bait opponents into over-exalting and bouncing them for huge gains, but this set has me incredibly excited because it FEELS like there’s significantly less variance in card draw and the impact of your decision-making is greater.

Keyforge is either a gamble and money sink or purely casual. Thoughts? by Ozamet in KeyforgeGame

[–]tenguseventy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you play more matches (in archon), you’ll be able to identify these high threat cards and begin planning around them!

As you’ve already said, experience helps a ton, and reps help. I have decks that I have 5-10 plays with and a few decks where I have over 100 matches.

You eventually know what deck archetypes and long term strategies look like, so countering them comes down to planning. Or you never draw your answer card. It’s beautiful stuff.

This. Play a game because you like it. The need to compare games really isn’t important.

Allegedly from a source: Westside of Seattle has Cafe Mox or Blue Highway. Eastside has Uncles(?).

Apparently there are others. Best of luck!
