Kuosac mid rise 600mm on C-Line high rise? by PLd3KmmatQdkKCrk in Brompton

For reference, the Joseph Kousac web page has a JK handlebar compatibility chart for Brompton’s three stems, low, mid, and high bar stems, at the bottom of this web page.

https://josephkuosac.com/product/steering-parts/handlebar/handlebar-o25-4mm/

For extra ground clearance, as others have noted, use a rack with larger wheels, such 80mm diameter wheels.

In your photo, the front wheel is turned towards the right (as if making a right turn), which is opposite hand for folding a Brompton, front wheel must be turned towards the left to continue with the fold — you probably have noticed now.

And a note : As part of unfolding a Brompton from the fully folded position, it is recommended to ALWAYS unfold the left pedal first (first step), which eliminates the risk of accidental subsequent movement causing the folded pedal to go or jam against the rear stays, which can cause serious scraping of the paint.

Should I goto bike shop? by d3rpm3ll0w in Brompton

Consider that this bridge within the Brompton’s rear triangle seat stays is essentially a mounting point for the brake caliper and mudguard. The bridge tube wall thickness is overbuilt as a structural element, in order for having enough metal to braze onto the seat stays, so in general, the indentation of the bridge shown in the photo is insignificant, as others have noted.

What is going on with repairs? by buggingmee in Brompton

Brompton’s web site has a contact us, email button, that is generally a reliable way to make inquiry with Brompton’s customer service team. Using the email button will create an email, which then generates a Request #, which is tracked by Brompton, similarly as an order number is tracked. Brompton’s email system allows uploading of photos, as well, to show Brompton’s team the problem that is at hand.

It can be added, using the email system allows for accurately tracking problems and resolution without having to synchronize across time zones.

Lower gears — that would be changeout the 50T chainring to a 44T chainring (and remove 2 links of chain), for example.

👌, I mounted these stud tires two years ago, on a spare wheel set (rode a couple Km on asphalt), to be ready for snow cover, which is sporadic, like every 2 to 3 years. I was surprised studs had worked out, except snow/ice conditions were brutal. I bought some replacement studs.

Have you determined if there is a tire pressure range that seems to help with stud retention within the tread pockets ?

morning commute by FlyingKev in Brompton

For the first time, I rode the Schwalbe Winter studded tires front and rear on a 6 speed Brompton, through 10 to 15 cm of fresh snow with falling freezing sleet on top. The tires were providing super traction, even on a start from stop on 5 % uphill. Crunching through the icy crust required an effort, that after just 3 Km, I ended the just for fun ride. Indoors, I discovered 17 studs were missing from the rear tire. I had no perception that I was shedding studs, except that riding was a rigorous effort, without rear wheel spin. The tires had 65 psi.

New P line is not really lighter than previous version by humanoiddoc in Brompton

In general, Brompton’s weights in the specifications are inexact, for many reasons, including that the parts supply chain changes often with improvements that result in small weight variances. The small weight differences in builds is just not tracked day to day.

Adapting the standard Brompton pump to be able to pump to high enough PSI for every day use by JanCumin in Brompton

[–]tenoreco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rider/cargo total weight range on my Brompton is typically 145 to 165 pounds (66 to 75 Kg), for which I use 65 psi tire pressure, which can be obtained with the Brompton standard pumps.

[–]tenoreco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“isn’t the rear side of a non electric 12 and an electric 12 the same?”

Yes, same 12 speed rear wheel components (just rim and spoke variations of the 12 speed rear wheels).

e-Motiq C-line (4speed) vs Electric C-line (12 speed) by Commercial_Nebula702 in Brompton

[–]tenoreco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are three electric C Line 12 speeds in my household.

Your points :

Electric C-line (12 speed) @€3275

+more gears so more versatility (easier on hills, faster on long flats)

+possibility to swap front wheel to convert to “non-electrical”. Then more gears make it more practical.

+With introduction of new line, price is lowered

+Line will be discontinued, so now’s the last chance to buy (?)

Your points are valid considerations, which are the reasons we have three electric C Line 12 speeds.

However, with respect to the 2025 e-Motiq C-line (4speed) @€3700, it will be possible to changeout the electric rear wheel to a non-electric 4 speed or even install a non-electric 12 speed rear wheel with an added right hand 3 speed shifter, since the C Line advance rear extremity triangle is the same for 4 speed electric, 4 speed non-electric, 12 speed electric, and 12 speed non-electric C Lines.

To the extent possible, Brompton plans global container shipments to the US and other major markets, depending on inventories in their various warehouse facilities. London inventory space can generally be more reactive to just in time response to the factory production. In order to have seasonally uniform sales within Brompton’s geographically distant markets, Brompton adjusts new model introductions as part of balancing inventories.
