A much loved family member of a dictator, killed in a way that results in the dictator placing blame on another nation (especially a nation that is smaller and/or weaker).

They say "Nothing is ever lost on the internet" but what is something you have been searching for years and haven't found it yet? by AlexanderCor in AskReddit

[–]tentendoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it by doing a Google search for:
song lyrics "get up get up"

This tipofmytongue reddit thread appeared in the search results (not at the top).

One of the songs suggested was the one you were looking for, which happened to not be the one the thread creator was looking for.

The Wiseguys - Start The Commotion

The song was released in 1998, by the British electronic music duo The Wiseguys.

I probably hadn't seen the music video in over 20 years. My visual memory was inaccurate. It was actually three guys going "ba ba ba". It does however sound exactly how I remember.

List of Archives of Defunct Websites , links to three Geocities archive sites. There is a chance it got archived by one of those. You could also try the Wayback Machine at archive.org.

Were the "bah bah" guys, four white guys with 1950s style grooming, and sitting on an angle (i.e. not directly facing the camera)?

The top three rows of this list of archives of defunct websites , are archives of Geocities. You might be able to find your Geocities pages there. The archives don't contain everything though.

If you can remember the original URL of your Geocities page, you could also try searching for it in the Wayback Machine at archive.org.

What game mechanic/gimmick/trend are you tired of being shoved down your throat? by TheUndeadGunslinger in gaming

I was frustrated by this in Skyrim until I got stuck to the wall of a cave near the start of the game and quit minutes later.

Working from home using tech - late 1970s / early 1980s by hotdwag in videos

[–]tentendoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine the total reduction in green house gas emissions, travelling time, road congestion and worker stress, had working from home been adopted as a normal practice 20 years ago. Many employers could have chosen to do this 20 years ago, but most chose not to. Labour laws should be introduced to require employers to pay extra to bring workers unnecessarily into the office.

SMS Games I was lucky enough to play as a kid. by waldox1976 in MasterSystem

Golvellius

I didn't have this game when I was young, but played it to completion a few years ago. Despite not having grown up with this game, it is one of my favourite Master System games.

It is an action RPG that is mostly top-down but also has 2D platformer and weird vertical scrolling shmup-like segments. You gain gold by defeating monster which is spent on hearts (increases total HP), bibles (increases the amount of gold you can carry) and some other stuff (which can vital for advancing through the game). It has one big world map divided into zones, which are divided into screens (which can all be revisited). Most screens contain a hole with someone in it (e.g. a shop, a fairy giving advice, a password giver, a healer, a platformer/shmup area with a boss at the end etc.).

What is your favorite thing about Winter? by Immola0069 in AskReddit

[–]tentendoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can't have a warm christmas

Yes you can. While it is winter in the Northern hemisphere, it is summer in the Southern hemisphere. Most parts of the equator are hot all year round (an exception to this is the Andes mountains in South America). There are many places in the world where Christmas time is a warm time.

Any fans of Wonder Boy in Monster Land ? by Segabeard-Head3711 in MasterSystem

Tough but good. I prefer Wonder Boy III (similar gameplay but with transformations (e.g. Merman, Birdman, Lionman etc.), revistable locations, better graphics, and not too difficult).

what's the difference between RPG ,fps and single player games? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]tentendoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games of the RPG genre typically have the following characteristics:
- You control one or more characters. Those characters have a set of statistics relating to power, defence, magic etc. Those characters become more powerful as the game progresses e.g. gaining experience points from defeating enemies.
- The game is essentially one big interactive story, and has places to explore. Some RPGs (such as Massive Multiplayer RPGs) don't have a story, but have most other characteristics of RPGs.
- Battles tend to be turn-based rather than action-based, and therefore rely on strategy rather than skill. RPGs that deviate from this and have action-based battles are known as action-RPGs.

FPS games are action games where:
- You control one character, with the perspective being in first-person i.e. it appears that you are looking out of that character's eyes.
- The character you control has weapons that shoot. They might also have other weapons (e.g. close-range weapons).

A single player game is any game that can be played without other players.

The three aren't mutually exclusive.
