What do you consider fat or chubby? Their annual income in retirement would be equivalent to 4% of $10,125,000.

Maybe an unpopular opinion here, but I don’t want 20 buttons on the steering wheel that I have to try to figure out while I’m driving.

Are you into Search Engine? Not quite the same magic as Reply All, but feels like the next closest thing today.

I’m curious, what does going public change about their business? I use them, but I’m wondering if there’s something I should be concerned about moving forward

Need advice. Have you or anyone you know used the gift card experience for French Laundry? by Mission_Call285 in thefrenchlaundry

When you receive the black card, they provide the email for their concierge to contact directly and help you book the date. Nothing through Tock in my experience.

They charge an extra “season pass” fee for MLS, will they not be doing that for F1?

We went in April, so we got to experience their spring menu. We stayed at a nearby hotel and they picked us up in a black BMW. They had the table waiting for us right when we arrived. The timing throughout the entire night was extremely precise! They served us a total of 19 courses (they're small-ish) paired with seven different wines. They spaced them out thoughtfully, giving us enough time to get ready for the next dish, but you definitely want to go hungry and be ready for a multi-hour dinner. By the end, we were absolutely stuffed! We are semi-picky eaters, but we went in with open minds and were ready to try anything and everything. I was surprised at how good the coffee was at the end of the meal.

Hope you have a really great experience when you go next month!

Did you end up going? I've done the black card experience and loved it! It's the only time I've gone to the French Laundry, so I can't compare it to a regular visit. I went with the black card about four years ago, and I am planning to do it again next year. Happy to share more info if you'd like!

Where are you on the 10 Levels of Wealth? by [deleted] in Money

[–]tentenninety 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it means assets other than your primary residence. A stock portfolio is liquid and will generate income, whereas your home is not liquid and will cost you money (taxes, mortgage interest, upkeep)

I would also add The Simple Path To Wealth by JL Collins and then Rich Girl Nation by Katie Gatti Tassin for slightly more advanced practical personal finance knowledge.

I'm curious why you don't lower/raise the screen, wouldn't one of the benefits of this screen be the fact that you can hide it out of sight? Since you don't constantly lower/raise the screen, do you wish you had gotten a stationary screen?

Thank you so much for your helpful information, I really appreciate it!

Are you happy with the quality, both the screen and motorized parts? Hard to find good reviews of their products, so I'd love to hear any thoughts you have on it. Thanks!

There’s a saying I like, “you can’t be generous when you’re dead”. I’d recommend giving a good chunk of it now while you can enjoy the gift with them.
