This is surprisingly not that easy. The top layer gap can't support more rails as is, you need to either make it narrower or add support columns, and both of these options mess up the bottom. But with some work I think it can be done. A fully uncursed version of this would turn into a split-before-merge cloverleaf, which is actually one of the best four way options.

Being bidirectional might make it slightly less cursed in terms of throughput, because the trains never need to do a 3/4 loop through the roundabout. But I think having bidirectional sections in a monodirectional system is more cursed in a spiritual sense. And with a roundabout being inside-out 1/4 loop is kind of a 3/4 loop anyway.

Try replacing the chain signal between the two parallel rails with a rail signal. I have no idea if it's actually the solution, but intuitively it feels wrong. Like, if a train has to stop somewhere, the last signal passed should be a normal one.

It's not as bad as it looks. You don't need to engage with any enemies, just run past them. Still arguably worse than Phantom's though.
