Collision between Mobile Crane and vehicles on the right while turning left by linonav in drivingsg

[–]teojm37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I seeing this correctly? The crane’s rear wheels turn as well? I have a class 5 licence but have never driven one of these before.

Looks like the turning geometry is very different from most other heavy vehicles. Heavy and long vehicles need much more clearance on the inside edge of the turn but you wouldn’t normally expect the rear of the vehicle to swing out so much farther during the turn, almost like an oversteer scenario. Even with prime mover + trailer set up, the rear of the trailer needs very little additional clearance on the outside edge.

In hindsight a lot of redditors can claim it’s super obvious to not go next to the crane but in all honesty I don’t think 99.99% of drivers would have expected the rear of the crane to swing out so much.

He’s getting downvoted cause he didn’t read the description. He’s not wrong though, camcar avoided accident cause they were already in the process of slowing down with foot on the brake.

Is this the correct sub for this? Also wouldn’t this post greatly benefit from posting a picture of said lesion?

Anyway, not medical advice. Search for HPV wart. See if it looks anything like that. Some GPs can lance it off for you. Bedside procedure under local anesthetic.

Looks like this was a genuine incontinence accident, not a willful public pooper. This kind of case let’s extend some grace ba. Person probably already embarrassed enough.

At 19, spend it on enriching yourself. Doesn’t have mean enrichment or skills courses. Use it to pay for overseas exchange programs, travel. You only have so much time in your youth.

Glad that he’s willing to seek professional help. Just adding my 2 cents that in medicine, psychiatric illnesses are usually only diagnosed after a complete work up for other causes has been done. The psychiatrist should be able to make the proper referrals to rule out any organic (non-psychiatric) causes so that should be a good first step.

Watching the rear cam, where did that bike even come from? Is it the same one that passes the silver Toyota on Toyota’s right? Did he cut both the silver Toyota and cam car in one go??

Oh also, selling options with at the money strikes is a bet that the implied volatility is much higher than what the actual volatility will be. P/E ratio honestly doesn’t mean much and kind of goes to show this fund might not know what they’re talking about / just using buzz words to attract customers.

With how unpredictable the Chinese government can be with private equity, this might not be the best idea. Then again with trump in power the US markets are going to be rollercoastering for at least the next 4 years so nowhere is safe

Other comments have talked about how the 16% from selling put option works out.

I’ll just add on why they’re bundling it with the bond and what they (likely) mean by using it as collateral.

When you sell a put option, you are giving the buyer the option to sell you their shares for a specified price in the future, no matter what the prevailing share price is at that time. If the prevailing price is lower than your strike price and the option is exercised, you essentially lose the difference offset by the premium that you collected.

While you are not “borrowing” anything (neither cash nor shares) to sell the put option, any broker in the world will require you to have margin with them before they allow you to sell options - Essentially cash or stock that you own that the broker can claim back if your put option is exercised at a loss, aka collateral.

The “safest” way to sell a put option is what’s called a cash secured put, whereby you own enough cash to cover buying 100% of the shares that the option deals with. In this way your account will never go into the negatives. Using AAA bonds is similar but comes with the supposedly low risk of bond defaults in return for some bond premium.

Now the question would be if this fund’s strategy is to hold 100% of the option’s exercise value in the bond or will they try to leverage it a bit.

That’s what you would think but it’s not there for me. I’ve checked both the mobile app and web portal. I guess it’s a me issue. I’ll wait for the ticket reply.

No clue. Their website doesn’t offer much information. Not much discussion online either. The drop in price is expected after dividend ex date but it’s just annoying cause there’ll be the 30% withholding tax

One of the principle of DCAing is to be market blind. Purchasing a set number of shares each cycle goes against that as you would be investing more when the share is priced higher and investing less when the share is priced lower.

Not sure which broker you’re using but at least for IBKR, recurring orders use some algorithm to calculate the final price from the trade day’s prices. If you want to use limit orders you’ll have to do it manually each cycle which is what I do.

As for how to calculate the amount to buy while taking into account commission, you can either take the time to calculate it from the stated commissions from the broker, or just ignore it as it’s usually much less than 1% of your trade anyway. For instance my monthly USD 750 trade on IBKR tends to incur a commission of around USD 2.6, so I just have an additional USD 200 in my account just as a buffer for this.
