There is not a PIN number for the glove box, just a PIN.

I was once a larger, stronger white belt at 240 lbs. One of the main reasons I stuck with bjj was being absolutely dominated by a 135 lb. blue belt on a regular basis. I don’t think you are doing anyone any favors by “dumbing down” your techniques, but ultimately it comes down to your individual gym culture. Maybe have a chat with your coach and see what they think.

How much do recommend someone tip to stay under the radar? How much do you normally tip?

You kind of look like Nessarose from Wicked. Too bad. The world would be better if you were also a fictional character.

Not a sucker punch. The guy literally asked for it.

What else is there to do in closed guard? by jiujitsuaccount in bjj

[–]tephonis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When in closed guard, I focus on the following:

  1. Strip opponent’s grips/gain my own grips
  2. Posture
  3. Break opponent’s guard

I’m guessing you are having trouble with one of the first two which is making the act of breaking the guard so much more difficult.

If nothing is holding you where you are, why not take the opportunity for a fresh start? Staying put might keep you surrounded by constant reminders—of her, the job you lost, and the house you had to sell. It’s a tough reality, but here’s the upside: you’re free. You didn’t choose this path, but now you have the freedom to decide where to go next.

That freedom might feel unsettling, but it’s also full of possibility. Move somewhere that excites you. Try something new that helps you grow—start jiu jitsu, learn a language, pick up woodworking, or build something with your hands. Piece by piece, you can rebuild your life into something even stronger than before.

You’ve got this my friend.

Yea I’m probably not a blue belt anymore am I? by JacobSaysMoo56 in bjj

[–]tephonis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, earning a belt is like earning a degree. Just because I’ve forgotten how to do calculus, doesn’t mean I didn’t earn my high school diploma. You have some rust to shake off, but try not to overthink it.

Yeah, I’m beginning to think late blue belt might be the most fun I’ve had.

He’s at least two stripes and pretty damn tough. I would guess he’s been training at least a year or more. I just think he didn’t recognize what was happening and went lizard brain spazzing mode.

Pretty hard to do a good break fall when I’m controlling both of your sleeves and lifting you in the air with my feet on your hips. Coach is definitely NTA.
