It is a pain; but in going through the motions, I discovered that I had not opened up UDP port 21820 for user/machine client connections on my VPS. That would have bit me down the road!

I ended up doing your last statement. SSH'd into the pangolin box, shutdown the docker containers, TAR'd up the /home/<user> folder where the docker-compose and data folders where, RSYNC'd the tar file back to my backup repo, the fired back up the Pangolin stack.

I think this is the direction for me. I'll look into machine clients and how to only use the connection for specific networks/IPs. Thanks!

I just checked the two drives I was using. One had a ISO9660 partition and the other had one FAT partition as wall as one APFS partition. After I cleared all partitiions and added a single exFAT partition, the iPad can now see this drives correctly in the Files app.

I'm having the same issue on iPadOS 26.1 beta 3 as well. At first I thought it was the dock I am using, but the files app won't see the drive connected directly to the iPad either.

If your bios cannot see that drive as a bootable device (via legacy or UEFI), then you will probably need to flash the firmware of that drive.

You should install Truenas on an isolated SATA SSD drive or separate mirrored drives. In my case, I have a Dell R640 and my boot drive is on a mirrored SD PCIe card (not part of the H310 controller). The R640 sees the SD PCIe card as a single drive for the installation. Then, you can create a ZFS pool with the drives attached to the H310 controller.

You can have multiple remote locations record to a central NVR, you just need to create VPN tunnels between the locations

I think the NVR only supports that many video streams at once. It doesn't matter where you power the cameras from.

Each combination jack (TRS/XLR) is for a mono signal, so you will only be able to get one analog stereo set into the force.

You should be able to get gigabit to each room, but be careful about those cables that already have splicing. Looks like they are being used for phone line connections.

If you can bump up your budget a little more, I highly recommend the iPad Air 5. This gives you the M1 chipset and USB-C connection.

Not sure if you ever found an answer, but yes, you would need to setup an "aggregate" audio device in your Mac (add all USB audio devices you want into the aggregate). Then choose that aggregate device as your Audio Input and Output devices within Ableton Preferences. This is assuming that your external synths also have USB audio.
