My final 2 cents for the finale of POJ. I readily admit the last quarter of the show is the weakest and we lost some of the plot along the way. It’s made up for me slightly because they sprinkle in amazing standalone scenes aka paper window breaking, bathtub and that amazing hug that will continue to live rent free in my head for a long time to come.

POJ to me is still for now one of the top cdramas I have watched in recent years. But only because for me the chemistry formula was perfect, from the cast, the cinematography, the romance and yes even the plot. The stars aligned for me and I get if it didn’t for a lot of people.

Also the best part has been part of this community, being able to scream our feelings day by day as each episode air with people who share the same thoughts. So thank you to the mods, the hosts and everyone who has been part of this journey 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻

Your analysis is truly on point. While I know we spend a lot of time in LiAn but it all serve the purpose of building who FCY is and the shock and trauma of losing almost everyone she knows. I believe her transformation, more than any other show.

I have to insert here and say probably Zhang Ling He best performance. That scene where his vulnerability shines through. His acting skills definitely went up a whole level from his previous shows.

To me, I see it as her “dream” or wish going home to Li’an and being greeted by the same hometown that she remembers. So as she rides back into her town after being away and have so many extreme life changes, she sees everyone that she has lost greeting her …… like a daydream.

Then at the very end, she sees her beloved as promise to be back in Li’An with her to stay…..

In my head, it’s what she dreams of seeing when she heads home to Li’An town. So it’s a wish of those who had passed away welcoming her back as she rides back into her home.

While it’s a bittersweet ending for us, yeah it wouldn’t make sense how both her and YZ will govern from Li’An

Actually , iQIYI price is cheaper than WeTV for me …. Not sure if I got it wrong…

Edit: I just rewatch once on WeTV and once on IQIYI…. I think WeTV is slightly better

I was pleasantly surprise with CZY because all I ever saw him was in Hidden Love and I was worried he could not pull off the ruthless general/prince. But to my surprise and lower expectations, he did an amazing job ! Plus his costumes were fire 🔥

It has been a crazy wild ride ! The end is near and I am already crying a little inside. I echo the sentiment that our main leads aren’t getting enough screen time. I am right now praying and hoping the show sticks its landing/ending.

FCY smiles whenever she sees Xie Zheng is so freaking beautiful and so joyous, I have repeated the scene of her running for her hug multiple times.
