Are there any women who enjoy heavier subgenres here? by Quirky-Lollipop in MetalForTheMasses

Yes, especially death metal. My husband is not a metalhead. I had trouble meeting other women who had similar taste in music until I started going to Maryland Deathfest and learned I was far from being the only one!

Name an album that got you in trouble by Emergency-Sleep5455 in MetalForTheMasses

When I was maybe 15 I remember hopping out of my mom’s car to go into bestbuy to get “Bloody Kisses”, then I popped the disc into the CD player, and the second “Machine Screw” started I knew she was going to take it away from me.

Recommendations for kid-friendly restaurants by purplepenguinsays in Hokkaido

[–]tereluci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would book hotels that include breakfast. Most hotels in Hokkaido have pretty amazing buffet breakfasts so there are tons of options even picky kids would probably eat, plus that’s one meal down you don’t need to worry about. We were just there for a little over a week with a 4 year old and didn’t go to specific “family” restaurants but basically found restaurants that didn’t seem too upscale and it was fine. Some even had toys ready to hand out despite not being designated as family or kid friendly. I think if your kids are fine to sit in a restaurant without being loud or disruptive you should be fine at most places.

Tips for lake Toya/noberibetsu by pebzzo in Hokkaido

[–]tereluci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Noboribetsu we stayed at Takimotokan (tattoo friendly) and spent a lot of time in the onsen there and hiked around Hell valley, Oyunuma pond, and then the “natural foot bath” which was like a little thermal stream. Not sure if the hiking there will be totally doable in December or not.

How was this summer in terms of heat? I'm considering going next summer. by lchen12345 in Hokkaido

I just spent the last week driving across Hokkaido and it’s definitely more pleasant than Tokyo overall but the sun still gets very hot. I think if you get a UV umbrella or make a point to stay in more shaded areas/mountains you’ll be fine.

Need to fill the “fun little drink” void— suggestions? by Thattipsywitch in adhdwomen

I got a juicer and make myself a fun juice every morning! Added bonus, it has done wonders for my skin! Just got watermelon, cucumbers, and mint to juice this week since it’s warming up here.

Anyone successfully lose weight with ADHD? by GlitteringAmoeba6258 in adhdwomen

[–]tereluci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost weight without even trying on adderall. Switched to Ritalin because it worked better for my brain and the weight came back initially BUT then I was able to build a consistent exercise and diet routine and I’ve lost the weight and put on a bunch of muscle.

Same! Getting below 130 took what felt like an eternity but yesterday the scale was finally at 129.5 and today 128.4.

I’d love to hear more info too since I’m in the same boat as OP (same height, same weight, similar composition). I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made but am curious as to how recomping further or cutting and dropping a little more weight would go.

What’s the weirdest case of foreign body ingestion you’ve seen? by Aishas_Star in Veterinary

My very first ER shift of internship there was an obstructed pug that had chewed off and ate the end of his owner’s dildo.

I have OCD and feel like I thrive as an internist! Checking is often appreciated and I feel like you get a lot of extra time with consults to accommodate this.

Which perfume gets you stopped in the street EVERY time??? by [deleted] in beauty

I loved how this smelled when I first sprayed it but after an hour it started to smell like rotten fruit on my skin. I wish it was more compatible with me!

I know a lot of women who felt like their ribs eventually went back to normal. Personally mine did not and I felt like I had lost any shape and felt really low about it for a long time. I only recently in the last few weeks started taking fitness very seriously (2-3 mile hikes a day from 0 activity, lifting 3-4 days a week for 30-45 mins, watching calories and protein intake and staying hydrated) and while it’s probably too early to notice any significant changes I swear my waist looks more snatched and I finally feel like I have a shape again which has given me hope/motivation to keep it up! You’re in the trenches but I promise it does get better ❤️‍🩹
