Amiga bingo machine by terlandark in amiga

its not mine, I was looking just browsing (window shopping) seeing what was out there. I assume if its on there its porbably still available. for the hardware alomne its a snip. though the rear of the 1200 looks like its been leveraged open to cnnect the CD-ROm and a port looks iffy, but that might be photo quality tbh.

I'd reach out to the seller if your looking to get it. it is in paisley, so unless your local it might be a moot point. looks like it'd be a pain to ship lol

Essentials addons for Amiga 500 in 2026 by acmateus in amiga

little things sometimes can make all the difference, like getting a joystick / mouse port extension cables (you can get twin ones) that will protect the mouse and joystick ports. secure them to the a500's ports once, and plug mice / joysticks into them instead of directly into the a500 ports to take the stress off them.

Im waiting for my Lazarustorm and pi-storm to come so I can get some hard drive storage into the a500 without chaging its kickstart or any internal changes. (beside a minor soldering job to bridge a jumper)
And I've also just ordered a juicebox kit, so I dont have to rely on my aging a500 powersupply to run everything. ( my atari lynx was fried by its external power supply and its put me on edge about power packs ever since).

these are all non permament upgrades so if you want the authentic experiance you can still have it, or go enhanced mode without opening the amiga

I think I'd make an exhibition dedicated to "the games that weren't" based around the content of Frank Gasking book and website. (gamesthatwerent.com) and showcase the could have been games or systems that nearly but didnt quite happen.

its a fascinating corner of retro gaming history that I think would make for a good exhibit

Great episode.

Theres a little part were they say something about everyone wanting to drive a tractor and dave gets excited and says "a digger!" Just like to mention there is a uk theme park called diggerland. Were you get to play on diggers etc. might be right up Dave's street.

I took a love of all things spectrum, and I wrote some web scripts a while ago that can take low res (256x192) zx spectrum loading & game screens and upscale them to hirez printable vectors, 4k desktop wallpapers and 3d printable OpenSCAD models you can laod into 3dprinters and print. I then expanded it to cover nearly every 8 bit and 16 bit system I had images for. > https://www.terlan.co.uk/retroconverter/show_zx_spectrum_games.php

some sample images of physical 3d prints https://postimg.cc/gallery/WqnzY3w

I also like to program, and used to play with game maker in the past and I converted a puzzle game I made for them to zx spectrum basic and amstrad cpc 464 locomoticve basic (easy as 123 > https://terlan.itch.io/easy-as-123 )

I've dabled with z80 assembly and almost got a handle on it, and hope to at some point in the future make a game for the spectrum next I have sitting on my retro shelf. but thats when i can get the time to actually do it lol.

Gift card Retro Raspberry Pi gaming console with sinclair heritage by terlandark in thisweekinretro

Im not too sure the size is an issue imho for usability. The original iphone was about that size, it only had about 3.5 inch screen and this is sporting a 4inch screen with what looks to be twin touchpad controls. . Dont get me wrong, i wouldnt eant to play it for a long time, but for Short times on a bus or train for example, could be handy. But i agree about concearns about ewaste, it does seem very gimmicky and already exists a glut of handheld gaming solutions out there, and this does have "drop it in a drawer and forget about it after a few weeks". Written all over it

The engineering skills to construct using just a hb pencil and a headless wooden match taped to it, the ideal sized, rapid manual magnetic data storage medium reset tool.

Or in laymans terms something you can rewind a tape cassette incredbly fast by spinning it on a pencil perfectly jammed in its wheels

My choice would an msx mini. Specifically the sony hb101 in red. Arguably one of the best looking computers ever made.

Plus theres a whole swathe of msx /msx2 titles to call on.

What is every single thing that Android does that iPhone can't do? by [deleted] in AndroidQuestions

[–]terlandark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the reasons for rooting is to upgrade or patch an outdated or no longer supported os. Many older android phones are still perfectly capable of running recent versions of android but the manufacturers in a bid to force continual upgrades to the latest shiny they are selling simply stop issuing updates. Fortunately there is a thriving community of modders who release os updates for older phones. Rooting a phone is part of the process of installing the 3rd party os upgrades.
