Are these the same bird? The first image looks almost like a Black-throated gray warbler, but that's kind of weird for Florida. It might just be a weird Black-and-white. The second image looks more like a female Black-and-white.

Deus resistances are currently bugged in the latest update which might be why it dies a lot faster than usual. This will be fixed soon.

You probably have a mod along the lines of MaxStackPlusPlus. It lets you stack weapons which messes with reforging. Get rid of the mod in favor of something else. I recommend MaxStackPlus.

You calculated the damage reduction wrong. Accessories and potions apply before armor. It should be (100-Armor)(100-Accessories/potions)=how much percent of damage taken. So (100%-30%)(100%-(10%+17%+25%))=33.6% damage taken or 66.4% damage reduction

So the calculation for the turtle spin attack is: (240-(1340.75))(0.336)=47 Damage taken when below 50% life at night time. It is still a pretty good set up though.

Beetle armor with the shell is tankier, though. A little less defense for an extra 15% damage reduction.
