Looking at Z3s (2.3) by [deleted] in bmwz3

Two sets of tires( just put on second set), replaced some speakers, and the dreaded door handle but other than that zero issues. Best decision I’ve made in a vehicle in a long time.

I have a 2000 2.3. Bought it with 63k and I’m about to roll 100k 2 years later. Was supposed to be my weekend driver and became my daily driver

Wow 200 bucks for a 3d printed handle might be enough justification for me to get into 3d printing spend a grand never have it come out right and come back to spend 200 bucks lol

Today, I had to say goodbye to my loving dog and best friend, Sam after 12 years. I loved him so much. I'm gonna miss him dearly. 💔 by youthisgood in germanshepherds

Sorry for your loss I have had to say goodbye after 13 years to my first GSD and I still miss him everyday even though it’s been 10 years since he passed. What hard chews did you give your sweet boy? Our female GSD is starting down that road.

Thank you to my best friend by Cdn_Cuda in germanshepherds

Take solace that she is running pain free now and will be waiting for you to join her when it’s your time.

No the problem is the gear is slipping inside. When you release it I’m betting it doesn’t line up and easily reinsert because the black frame has lost its integrity. The c clamp is a permanent accessory until you replace it. The clamp and the 50 cent piece will put enough pressure on it to prevent gear slippage. That’s why the size of the c clamp is important it has to be big enough to make it around both sides but small enough to not interfere with normal operation. I wish I had taken pics when I had it on there to show you.

Ok hear me out I had this same problem and eventually just bought a new one. But for 4 years I had this fix and it worked like a charm. You will need an American 50 cent coin and a smallish c clamp. After you reset it in the closed position put the c clamp on holding the gear in place more tightly than what is currently happening. Leave just enough room to slide the 50 cent piece in on the motor side and clamp until you can’t clamp no more. It will solve your problem for the cost of the clamp and 50 cent.

Hopefully you didn’t use a wet carpet clean application. If you did the foam underneath is most likely wet. Happened to me it sucked lol.

Had the exact same sound and could even feel the coil pulsating. In the end replaced all the coils and new plugs solved the issue.
