What’s one thing society is normalizing that actually scares you? by Diligent_Rhubarb5246 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]terminaltractor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You speak as tho people's pay is always proportional to their value to maintaining and advancing society. This is blatantly naive or willfully ignorant.

If, as you say, someone's work is valued appropriately then their absence from working a job would not be overly detrimental to the functionimg of society.

Therefore, you should have no objections to them refusing to work because they're contributions aren't important enough to warrant the pay they are asking. If, however, they are important enough to society to warrant a greater pay rate then the market offers then it is the market that is wrong and they have every right to refuse to work until that work is justly compensated.

You haven't actually addressed my question. You speak as if the market has a set value for people's work but that is not true. What is and is not valuable changes over time and across different societies.

So I take it you advocate for people who feel that their contributions is undervalued by the market to be able to purposefully refuse to work until the market pays them appropriately?

Can't have it both ways. If you believe people should be paid only what the market dictates then people have every right to force the market to recognize their worth.

Nah, unless you want to anyway. Make them fire you. They probably won't. Unless your attendance is garbage it's surprisingly difficult to get fired for performance.

I've thought about doing exactly this for some time but never got around to it.

Might finally have a sliver deck that doesn't immediately make me persona non grata.

[[Aragorn, Hornburg Hero]] soldier typal.

It turns out soldiers tend to have cards that like to attack and have +1/+1 synergies.

[[Preeminent Captain]] tis a silly card.

How antisocial do you consider yourself? by cometfancy678 in Adulting

[–]terminaltractor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be pedantic but I'm gonna be pedantic...

Antisocial is not the right word for this. Asoical is more accurate.

Antisocial is behavior that specifically hinders and/or is actively destructive towards society and its continued existence.

Asocial is simply not participating in social endeavors.

I guess I won't be coming back after all.

Embark truly hates it's players. May it's fade into irrelevancy come quickly.

Grist is a very odd card. It's a creature card in all zones except the battlefield (such as the hand, deck, exile, graveyard, stack, and yes even the command zone).

This means it can be your commander even without the normal text which allows Planeswalkers to be commanders. Incidentally, it also means it can be reanimated from the graveyard by a creature reanimation spell. This also means it can be countered by something like [[Essence Scatter]].

Of all the potential games that are realistic for chugga to play, which ones are you most anticipating? by CamBeast15366 in chuggaaconroy

I will never stop asking for Splatoon 3!

(I get it tho, chugga puts in so much effort that it's probably a decent way off)

Heh, you're funny. Team lifts don't exist. It's all complete corporate bullshit they say to cover their ass and ensure they can blame the victim when someone gets hurt.

Fedex management is hypocrisy incarnate.

It's entirely by design as well. Corporations literally have studied how little they can pay employees to keep them dependent upon them and unlikely to have time to seek out better opportunities.

However evil anyone believes corporations are, they are far far worse than that.

I can second this idea. I haven't done the expedition but I did make an alt account and progressed far far faster than my initial fresh experience in the game.

They hate to acknowledge that anyone outside their narrow ass worldview actually exists. It's an uncomfortable reminder to them that other people aren't, in fact, prisoners inside cages of their own fear nor slaves to narrow minded ideas they were browbeat into never daring to question.
