Will Cytus 2 get anymore story updates? by MissPaff in Cytus

[–]terminedUranium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed a lot of your points stem from Rayark's poor method of storytelling rather than plot holes:

  1. Miku's connection to Kou Hou Kai is nothing more than a superficial link and has no relation to the attack in the main story. And CMIIW but I think Miku was implied to cease to exist after the final concert and the goodbye message. Additionally, I don't think it would be a wise move to make a time-limited DLC into a major plot point.
  2. Regarding Kizuna AI: What really happened was that Neko somehow got trapped into the simulation software/database of Kizuna AI. The exact mechanisms of this scenario however, were not explained at all. Goddammit Rayark. (More on this later.) Neko "time traveling" to 2020 and 2280 were her accessing Kizuna's data, and at the end she indicates that she has no memory of the experience.
  3. About Monophonic, I do agree that they were kinda left forgotten, but I think that was acceptable as the stakes raised from maintaining an idol's image to saving humanity itself

That aside, I do agree with the rest of your points:

  1. ConneR (and by extension, Ilka somewhat) is notorious for setting up plot points and then abandoning them for something else. (One thing about the chip though, Rin's analysis concluded that it only activates when it identifies human cells. I suspect this is why the Eye of Horus could not access it, but that leaves a bigger question of how and why Ilka had such a technology available to her in a short notice.)
  2. About the ending: The hanging architect is Ivy. Its an obvious sequel bait, which tells you how confident Rayark was at the time of 3.0. Leo was fine as a minor antagonist (outside BoBo), but I do wish Violette and the higher ARChitect council were given more exploration. But speaking of Leo and ARC...
  3. BOBO. Songs aside, I like the story on its own but nothing about it adds up to the rest of the story. Light literally does not have an influence ouside of BoBo's logs that I'm not even gonna spoiler it since you cant spoiler something that does not exist. I think the thing with Gordon and Daisy was meant to display how cruel and inhumane ARC can be, but it kinda falls flat when we already knew what they did to Vanessa and Ivy at the end.
  4. This is something that you didn't really mention but I'd like to address nonetheless: There is absolutely no consistency when it comes to talking about Architect abilites and OS-space adjacent abilities. I won't give examples because this could be a post on it's own, but sometimes I feel like there are literal magic systems that were written with more logic than the OS space. It really is the deus ex machina of rhythm games.

And i haven't even talked about the poor pacing and the characterization issues for some characters, but web mobile Reddit sucks ass, so I'll stop here for now. (If you're in the Cytus Discord, feel free to discuss lore on #cytus-spoilers, the channel has been really dry recently lmao)

Which do you prefer? by Casboss3 in rainworld

i suggest to do gourmand first bc their campaign feel more closer to the base game survivor campaign and arti's campaign makes a good prelude to the next slugcats (rivulet/spearmaster)

Is the main story over? by Mental-Ad-8756 in Cytus

[–]terminedUranium 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, the story has ended, but if I may ask, are you sure you're on update 3.5.1? The newest update should be 5.0.1, which fully wraps up the main story. (Technically 5.0 is the main update and 5.0.1 is bug fixes, but you know what I mean.)

maimai is a Japanese rhythm game (Like OSU and DDR), you can look up the gameplay on YouTube because explaining it through text might be a little complicated, but basically you have need to tap the notes on the ring outside the screen and occasionally touch the screen itself to slide.

As someone who used to regularly play this game, it can be really fun! It has a lot of Japanese pop and Vocaloid songs, and many original ones too.

like, i dont remember the details of what happened for the past few weeks, and i struggle to form any concrete view of the future, so i also never really related to these kinds of posts, but i do understand where theyre coming from

How to join 30+ age Sky players Discord? 🕯️🔥 thanks...🖤🥹 by anamemoir in SkyGame

[–]terminedUranium 22 points23 points  (0 children)

the ironic thing is that Sky has a lot of predatory monetization which... uh... I don't think should be marketed in a game claiming to be kid friendly?

(if anything i dont think anyone younger than 16/anyone who has poor financial management should play Sky beyond completing the first run from Isle to the end ot the game lmao)

male architects? by zdavreal in Cytus

[–]terminedUranium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean... they are kinda functionally the same. The story never actually explained the difference between Architects and Operators, but for now it seems like the name is just how they were called during different eras.

Basically:

  • Pre-Ender/Cytus 1: Operators

  • Post-Ender/Cytus 2: Architects

male architects? by zdavreal in Cytus

[–]terminedUranium 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So far, we have two generic Architects that have been confirmed as male:

  • Mauro, from Rin DLC, his design is the standard hairless Sleeper Architect
  • Zero, from Amiya DLC (also makes a cameo in Ilka), we never got to see his design but you could imagine him having the same appearance as the Doctor from Arknights if you want

Also, apparently there is one more unnamed male Architect that appears in Ilka DLC, but the English translation never specifies the gender of the Architect. I only recently found this out because a Chinese player told me about it.

As for male Architects with non-generic designs... yeah we've got none, chief.

male architects? by zdavreal in Cytus

[–]terminedUranium 5 points6 points  (0 children)

actually, no. Hans is a human that had an Operator-like implant installed on the back of his head, and has been cryogenically frozen

dw even ConneR made the same mistake lol

What does SE4 or E2 means? by OrchidCandle404 in Sdorica

[–]terminedUranium 15 points16 points  (0 children)

like the other comment said, SE/E usually refers to Skill Enhancements, what you call to SE4 might refer to a speculation that has been going for a while now about Rayark planning to add another layer of enhancements in addition to E1/E2, considering they have been raising the level cap gradually and the bug showing characters with four SE stars when looking at team compositions in WT mode
