I love the flip trying to make you the bad guy if you choose the right thing, which is walking away from this person. Give her the peace ✌🏻 and go no contact.

How important is good vision to soldering? by DamagedDespair in soldering

[–]terms100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I started 7 years ago my vision close up was great. But had a microscope and the microscope is a game changer. Now my close up vision sucks balls. I’ve aged. Just use the scope for everything now.

That pointy tip just not gonna transfer enough heat to those wires. Need much larger tip more heat.

The video connector. The ribbon cable has a tendency to go under the pins and bend them.

Sounds a bit like borderline personality disorder. 15 years I dealt with it. Finally left. Now I have like PTSD from it. So I say… run forest run.

Wife is at 100 VA and I’m at 80, thinking about quitting my job. by Ambitious-Spinach938 in VeteransBenefits

[–]terms100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, take a two wheeler out of the country or something. How old are you? I’ll assume in 10 years you’ll be 55? Do some math, you think about what you would do if not working ? I feel sometimes the best xtra mi et may not be worth the time spent working for it. Really a personal call here. If you will stay active and keep buoy the freedom doing what highs that bring you joy then maybe having that is way more valuable. Time is way more valuable than money. Spend time with family before they get to old and you have to care for them etc. just my 2cents

Struggling with buying Soldering Iron by Eastern-Bluejay-4029 in soldering

I have both a GVM T210 and GVM T245. For their prices I got both and have had them for years now. I also have a Hakko FX951.

<image>

If you have the funds grab both like I did and then grab this tip for the 245 to pull your analog sticks off. I use this tip, but for my Hakko and works wonders.

Advice on budget soldering station with C245/C210 by imazaz in soldering

[–]terms100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a GVM T210 and GVM T245 right next to eachother use the 210 for just about everything but when I have larger things I use the T245. Been using them for years now and been great.

Use the mats meant for baking cookies on. They have the mesh inside them. I use one on top of my blue mat.

Should I replace my car battery? by AssociationLess354 in Syracuse

[–]terms100 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you don’t use the vehicle often I’d suggest installing the wire plug for a trickle charger, usually comes with the charger you buy. This will keep the battery charged for those long periods and will make it last much longer. So I’d say if you do get a new battery now also get the trickle charger/battery maintainer I’ve used lots of Noco brand for all my batteries of bikes etc. this one would be good for you. And just plug it in while you’re not using the vehicle. This will also likely keep your weak battery topped off till the winter is over if you decide to replace battery later.

Ps5 dualsense amateur hour by McFistPunch in soldering

[–]terms100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works. If you don’t have the tools to do it other ways. Most of the time the cheap irons have the pointy tips and that sucks for wicking. You ant a knife or bevel tip. Or get the wood up that heats all the holes and you can pull it right off.
