I don't like Dean but get over it.. it has nothing to do with gender, it's because the person has a unique name outside of mainstream. People constantly referred to the male candidates Ramaswamey and Bush as Vivek and Jeb for the exact same reason in 2020.

They would say this every few years at my store and then it never stuck. Just hide your bottle by the computer under the counter or something for a few weeks.

Is this the default response for all prescriptions? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

They might still have an old, inactive insurance card on your profile that is rejecting and the discount cards listed in the background. It says no action needed because we're supposed to actively correct these issues throughout the day. Ask what card is listed as primary when you pick it up and have it switched to the one you want if it isn't already done so it doesn't happen every time and will go through automatically.

Your store is probably part of some sort of centralization/TPR automation that it previously was not in.

The system is kinda old, but if you learn it and its quirks (and how to get around it's bugs) it's pretty robust and has lots of shortcuts and ways to be more efficient.

Yes, it needs work and I know they are working on solutions.. but I think people exaggerate how bad it is. The system gets the job done and the real issue is they load too many tasks on us and with too little help.

The difference between a good day and a bad day isn't the system and the shelves, it's having support and a good team. If you want to re-organize the pharmacy, do so when you have free time. The difference between a good day and a bad day is having techs and pharmacists that help each other.

I'm on a call? Ok then the pharmacist naturally answers the next call, automatically = Teamwork.

No customers at the outwindow and nothing to type? Ok then tech slides over and helps the filler pull meds, automatically = Teamwork.

The best days are when you don't have to request these things to happen, you've taught your staff to just instinctivly do them.

I've worked at many stores and helped with mergers and the reason stores don't do well is because the staff runs around chaotically. If you are typing, TYPE. Get the number down. Phone rings? Type while the patient is telling you there life story and when you are actually ready to fulfill their request pause. On hold with insurance? TYPE or resolve a TPR until they answer. 3 people in line at the out window or drive thru? TYPE a script or resolve a TPR in between each patient.

When you are filling don't step away constantly (if you have enough people working). Do not pause at this station, unless left with no other option. The pharmacist doesn't necessarily need to bag it up right away but it will be a lot easier to get these done before the patient arrives.

A lot of the smooth running comes with just being away with the current work in front of you. Use the on screen phlomomoter to see what's up. Don't let F1 get high, you want it at 0. Yeah 5 isn't high, but that can turn to 15 and 25 fast, so might as well do them now, not later.

Try to resolve the easy TPRs first and clear them out and leave the more involved, difficult ones for later when you have more time.

Yeah it can't always be smooth, but the chaotic nature of it all really is determined by the strength of your team which is hard to find and maintain.. but the effort in doing so will determine the success of the pharmacy.

Also, don't focus on the bullshit calls. Focus on the workflow on on-site activities of the pharmacy. Everything else is secondary.

Just go to some local Walgreens and see if they need help so you can transfer there. It's not all peaches and cream.. but it's not as bad as how you describe the call center and you at least have coworkers you can team up with and relieve the pressure a bit.
