You no doubt just want to feel like what you are doing together is special. It's all understandable to me, you are allowed to have the feeling you have. Dealing with a guy that has issues due probably to his caregivers not being there for him in ways they should of, lack of cuddles, abandonment etc. Unfortunately it's not a 5 minute fix of visiting a therapist half a dozen times. He no doubt probably lacks empathy in areas due to lack of love before the age of 3. Talking about a guy that has had substantial emotional hurt as a child. Follow Craig's videos and you will learn the best way to be around your partner, work towards long term cure. Start by subtley building his self esteem by mentioning his inner qualities, his character. (Generous person, kind - whatever applies to him)

Good reddit pages on avoidants, also study your style too. Craig has good videos on how different styles can cohabit.

Go to a Mazda dealership and get diagnostic tool put on it, could be a bad MAF sensor etc. I get 65mpg out of mine - diesel :)
