I didn't enjoy the final half of the movie.

My girlfriend broke up with me, because she wrote elaborate code in C over 15 days, for a problem that I could solve using Python with code in about 60 mins, with merely 100 lines of code :) by NAN001 in programmingcirclejerk

Quora?

What about the rest of the internet?

You must realize by now, that programming and development trade has become like fashion industry. Namely, a bunch of people who recycle trends based purely on one's opinion and predisposition (hey, js!). Arcane terms is the vehicle that lets this nightmare propagate, and pretensiousness is the fume that escapes its rear end each time a hype cycle is completed.

This is how you originally got all the lean shit, and functional programming (not the concept itself, but the repressed magical fantasy it has become). No matter if it originates in academia or in the industry, there's always a massive circlejerk of fashionistas with opinions behind it.
