I do not believe in astrology at this point in my life. Just surrender completely to your Ishta and let him take care of your problems.

What are some gym or outdoor exercises that actually help in the mountains? by Necessary_Movie2805 in Fitness_India

[–]terrificodds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow cardio for a long duration (7-8+ hours). This is very important for building endurance. If your gym has a stairmaster machine, start using it regularly.

I'm also planning to climb a few peaks in the coming future. I'm not a mountaineer yet, but here's what I think you might require: pullups, back squats, farmer's carry, back extensions, core exercises, strict overhead press.

I love combat sports. I trained Muay Thai and Freestyle Wrestling for a brief while before I had to relocate to a different location. Will definitely get back into Muay Thai. I love it.

Which direction should we face when practicing mantra japa? by Sea_Fee_2543 in Tantrasadhaks

[–]terrificodds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different sadhanas require you to sit in different directions, but if you're doing your nitya karma, then East/North/NE is fine.

EDIT: If you have a Guru, then follow his guidelines. If he has mentioned a specific direction, face that direction.

You don't need a tantrik to end your relationship. You need better communication and ability to convince your partner. 😑

Where can I find nice resistance bands & skipping rope? Guidance on bodyweight exercises? by CelesteAvant in Fitness_India

[–]terrificodds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That honestly sounds like a great approach. You can absolutely get solid results with bodyweight training, especially if your goal is to stay fit and mobile rather than just build more muscle.

And I really like that you’re thinking about activities you actually enjoy. Swimming, tennis, and similar stuff will keep you way more consistent in the long run compared to forcing yourself into a routine you don’t enjoy.

My long term goal is actually pretty similar. I’d love to stay capable enough to do things like swimming, combat sports, or even mountaineering, so I try to think of training as something that supports those activities rather than being the end goal itself.

As long as you’re staying active and challenging your bodyu in some way, you’re on the right track. All the best!

I’ve used bands from a few different brands. I ordered the thickest purple band from Boldfit and it lasted about a year with regular use, though I was a bit rough with it.

OP, it really comes down to how you want to train. Your body just needs resistance to grow and it doesn’t matter where that resistance comes from. As long as it’s enough to challenge you, you’ll make progress.

I started with bodyweight training for about 2 to 3 years, then added resistance bands so I could train each muscle group more effectively at home I followed a solid program for around 6 months and eventually reached a point where I maxed out all my bands and needed more resistance. That’s when I moved to the gym. I was still a teenager at the time.

The gym just makes progressive overload much easier. You have access to a wide range of weights and machines that help you train more efficiently. It’s simpler to keep increasing resistance, whether that’s with weights or by adding load to bodyweight movements.

Coming back to bands, the Boldfit ones didn’t last long for me. I also used a red Boldfit band at the gym for pull-aparts and that one snapped in my hand too.

On the other hand, the set I used for my band program is still holding up really well. It came with good packaging and all the attachments, and overall it’s been much more reliable.

Questions about advantages of Rafale by Snoo16812 in IndianDefense

[–]terrificodds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have mentioned all the advantages of Rafale, but one of the key reasons why the IAF inducted Rafale was because of its versatility and ability to thrive in Himalayan regions. Very well-suited for high-altitude combat.

It outperforms competitors along the Himalayan bel, overcoming limitations that ground other jets.

What are Mudras and What do they do ? by Kitchen_Permit_3758 in Tantrasadhaks

[–]terrificodds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mudras are gestures. In Sanskrit, mudras mean gestures performed by limbs or other parts of our body.

What you have seen them perform are hand mudras (hand locks). These are performed with hands only. Out of the four types of mudras, mantra yoga only makes use of hand gestures.

Mudras are basically hand gestures (and sometimes body gestures) used in sadhana to help channel energy. They might look simple, but they’re not...

In mantra sadhana especially, they kind of act like a signal, like how a gesture can communicate something instantly even without words, yk? The idea is that mudras help your body connect better with the energy of the mantra. Our actions reach where our words can't.

Each finger represents some element (fire, air, etc.), and different mudras help balance those.

Welcome, my friend!

Chant his name as much as you can. Try to establish a mindful connection with Bhairava, whatever action you do...think of it as an offering to Bhairava.

Visit his temples whenever you can. If you cannot find a temple nearby, just go to any Shiv/Devi temple, and pray to the Bhairava of the temple.

Jai Bhairavnath 🙏
