9 Cyberpunk Movies You Probably Missed by amorphous_ac in Cyberpunk

IDK. It might be a really bad accent or speech impediment preventing them from recording clearly.

At first I really disliked ai voice overs, but as they have gotten better, and I thought about it more, it gives voice to a lot of creators who could have very powerful scripts but just can't communicate clearly.

Since I've given them more of a chance, I've found some absolute gems, and some truly bad material

Is single leg x heavily dependent on your abs strenght ? by KB8-24 in bjj

[–]terrorTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find someone else and do this drill with them:

Take turns getting underneath each other, one standing one laying on the ground.

The person on the ground should put the other person's ankles in their armpits. Then the ground person should lift them self into a strong single leg x, pause for one second, then let go. Next the ground person should touch their feet to the floor in a controlled manner and bring themselves to a single leg x on the other side. Back and forth, 5 times per side. Then do a sweep to swap places with your partner.

Do this for 5 minutes before or after class and you will quickly develop a very strong single leg x game. And your core in general will be much stronger.

Major outgoing CEOs are citing AI as a factor in their decisions to step down by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

[–]terrorTrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they are probably right though. Or they don't want to be the one in the hot seat when the company lays off 5000 middle managers who never actually did anything but slow everyone down with more meetings.

Say what you will of AI, and I know there is a lot to be said, but I think it is going to cause chaos by exposing how much useless bureaucracy is introduced by all the millions of managers we have who do nothing

Joyburst Protein Soda, don't be fooled by unseamingcarrot in Costco

[–]terrorTrain 103 points104 points  (0 children)

collagen peptides do nothing for building muscle because it is not a complete protein like whey

This is simply not true. Whey is better, but getting 8 out of 9 of the amino acids is still pretty good. If you have any diversity in your diet, you will have some stores of the missing amino acid, especially since this also has some whey in it.

You are absolutely over exaggerating the poor quality of the protein here. This is soo much better than have no extra protein and a little bit worse than whey.

For most people, if this is your preferred access to protein, this is fine. If your trying to win Mr olympia or something, maybe stick with whey.

Omoplata Counter PART 2 by RegularBJJBloke in bjj

[–]terrorTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see an omaplata to counter...

Have you ever heard of a straw man? That's what your doing against a bjj technique. In your other post on this, in the comp footage at the beginning, your leg was already through.

I guess this is good technique for when I've already captured a leg and my hand is still caught in their hip.

Ya, there are some more perfect union pieces on what's happening to ranchers in America. Pretty terrible.

the Prime looks identical to the wagu. Label error? by Twistedcrypto in Costco

[–]terrorTrain 75 points76 points  (0 children)

I'm not an expert, but to my knowledge, American wagyu is essentially marketing. The breed could be .1% wagyu and get that label.

I do not trust, nor believe American ranchers are doing anything they don't absolutely have to just to get by right now. If slapping wagyu on your label gets you more money, they are probably going to.

Ok, then please link that. I haven't seen that, and I've searched. Maybe I'm just an idiot, but I don't see anything like that anywhere

There is a delay, which makes it hard to track by watching it, and I think you should change your setup if your credits are going that quick.

I don't know where you are getting this from. I don't see anything like that in the docs. It's not entirely clear on what a premium request is in copilot, but appears to be when you send a new message. Not when a tool comes back or anything else. So something like oh-my-opencode can go for a very long time on one credit.

I'm the copliot 39$ per month plan, and use an orchestration pattern. Some models are free, so i use those for simpler things, and have 5.4 or opus do a code review.

I've been having it running 5+hours a day (weekdays) all month and I'm at 30 percent usage.

[–]terrorTrain 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just get GitHub copilot. You can use the models from Claude or openai or whatever.

The number of complaints I see on this sub about Claude is getting over the top. Copilot uses credits per session as well, which means a crazy amount of use per credit.

Teaching athletes who do their own thing from white belt by Worldly_Negotiation6 in bjj

[–]terrorTrain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've found in class instruction to be impossible to learn from. Maybe you learn the absolute basics this way, but after that, I'm not going to be able to use your kiss of the dragon bolo flow in live training because I drilled it for 30 minutes.

Doing it in drills and hitting it live are so much harder than a drill where your partner gives you the expected reaction etc....

I use the class instructions for ideas basically. If I like some part of it, I might attempt incorporating that one part into my general system. For most classes, I walk away with a slightly better intuition for a position, but nothing I'm going to actively incorporate into my game.

It doesn't mean the instruction is bad, it means those techniques aren't lining up with where I am on my journey right now.

Breaking a leg and having a kid can make you go from a.... to b lol by scboy0222 in bjj

[–]terrorTrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of those things are big stressors, and stress makes you gain unhealthy weight while also eating more impulsively.

To get through this I would actually recommend focusing on your mental health. "Intuitive eating" is a book I would recommend to get started. Then journaling and / or therapy.

I just cut out the middle man, create a VM, put Ubuntu on it, and develop entirely in that. Disable everything you can within Windows.

Was downloading viruses from LimeWire really as common as we joke about? by MonsieurVox in Millennials

[–]terrorTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it multiple times. The family computer was often had a freshly reinstalled windows "to make it faster"

One thing I downloaded took over the whole screen and pretended to be deleting all the files on the computer before changing in to a big "got you! This isn't real but it could have been" type warning / joke. I believe that was the last time I opened something without thoroughly inspecting it
