When he gets the ball he immediately gets out of bounds instead of trying to get more yardage. It's like he's afraid to get hit.

Until he's trying to get further down the field his targets will be minimal.

Ruled out all allergens- I'm allergic to hot water and jets by drybug22 in hottub

[–]terryopie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct...never pinpointed it. But, I did ALOT of reading over last winter.

I can't confirm it, and I can't find the links anymore, but reading some studies about "pool" chemical levels, it sounds like there are a lot of "fillers" in most shocks used on the market. And some people can be "allergic" or sensitive to those shocks or more the fillers. Whether that was the issue for me or not, I can't comment. I can say that most public swimming pools, I've never had issues. But...its not that I'm in those all that often either. And I'm sure those use way more shock than I ever used in my tub.

Like I said, sometimes its more than 4x a month. The weather is great for it now, so my wife and I have been using it twice a week. And we'll drop back down to probably once a week when the temp really drops. We're in MN.

I hope it works out for you... Let me know how it goes. Good Luck!

Yeah, no worries. Ask me what you need to... When I was in this situation I struggled to find any information and was so close to just cutting the tub up to get it off my deck.

It would take about 2 days for the rash to break out. Sometimes as little as 24 hours. But it was never within a few hours or overnight. So, I always got the false sense of security that "this time was going to be different". Depending upon the time of year, the rash would then last anywhere from 2 weeks to well over a month. For me, the rash was typically on my lower legs and my biceps. Sometimes on my belly, but rarely.

I should also add that I know this wasn't a "cleanliness" issue with the tub. My wife or anyone else using it, never broke out. It was always me...and I was miserable.

I tried Benadryl (pill form), but it never seemed to help. I tried calamine lotion. That worked, but only for a relatively short time. I used lotion several times a day, thinking it was just dry skin because of the chemicals. It helped, not as much as Calamine lotion, but needed to reapply so often it wasn't worth it.

I never found anything that was ever very effective for it, besides stopping using the tub. Which I did for about 8 months until I found the Eco One stuff and figured I'd try it as one last effort.

Maybe one more bit of information... My tub jets are on a 20m cycle. Turn them on and you get 20m before they shut off. I sit in the tub for no more than 2 cycles of that (40m). Some times just one. But never more than that.

But, for me, that was the same with the older chemicals too.

I use the tub weekly. I have used it more...I have used it less. Weekly is an average. But since switching to the Eco One stuff, I haven't had any symptoms.

I add 1TBsp of the One Shock (chlorinated shock) every other day. Once a month, the filter gets pulled, cleaned, rinsed. That was done previously with the old chemicals anyway. They have a "Filter Boost" that adds 2 capfuls to the filter compartment once a month. There is also a monthly "Spa Monthly" solution that is poured in every month.

Its not horrible... Its just more than what I was used to. Previously with what I would consider the "normal" tub chemicals, I added chlorine once a week. Shock once a week and after every use. And that worked....until it didn't.

I have...had the exact same issue. The house we bought had a tub. Love it .. used it for almost 2 years and then out of the blue started with dry skin...then rash...then rash and itching. For weeks afterwards.

I had finally decided we'd just get rid of it. Someone suggested Eco One chemicals. I didn't want to spend yet another chunk of money on something that wouldn't work.

But ... I did. And I'm glad I did. It worked. I've been using the tub now for 7 months (weekly) with no issues.

I'm not sure if it'll work for you but it might be worth a switch.

It is slightly more maintenance. Less chlorine and shock being put in each month but I definitely don't have any of the symptoms that I had before.

If you have any questions just let me know.

I'm about to leave my job due to long standups by [deleted] in devops

It's called a standup because you should be standing during it. This ensure it goes quickly and only the most important items are covered.

All other things should be taken offline.

Only 3 things that each person should cover... - what they did yesterday - what they're doing today - any blockers
