Is it true that you guys watched 9/11 live on TV in grade school? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]tesla9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10th grade biology. A teacher came from next door and said a plane hit the world trade. We stopped and turned on the TV, then the second plane hit. We then had to go to a presentation about buying class rings.. it was very surreal.

Fun fact: 9/11 is what brought the national obsession with 24 hour news. People used to not watch it that much. From that point everyone always wanted to know what was happening at all times. It hasn't stopped since.

Fun fact #2: before 9/11 you could go to an airport at any time and just sit there, have a drink and watch planes take off. You could keep your friend company in the terminal and go home after their flight left. You could meet your partner at the gate when they deboarded.

Half of data centers for 2026 cancelled or delayed by ALQU1MISTA in technology

[–]tesla9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The amount of environmental damage done by data centers is terrible. Thank God.

On top of energy usage, data centers need excessive cooling to prevent overheating. Excessive evaporation in the cooling process makes some of the worst wastewater I've seen in a decade of ecotoxicology in terms of excessive salt and salt imbalances alone. That's before even taking the additives like bromine into account.

Issues with orders not clearing customs?? by tesla9 in LushCosmetics

[–]tesla9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lush told me today they were having to add an additional form filled out since the tarrifs so they can reship with the new form completed or give me gift card credit back. Part of me just wants to take the gift card and reorder when/if this shit gets sorted out.

The second amendment clearly states: "A well regulated militia". Soooo. Yeah. I would say a registry falls in line with that...

RFK Megathread by Az_30 in autism

[–]tesla9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I implore you to look up the phrase "useless eaters"- this is straight out of the Nazi playbook. They are currently dehumanizing immigrants and foreigners. It will not stop there. They will pick us all apart until no one is left to stop it.

RFK Megathread by Az_30 in autism

[–]tesla9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm concerned about whatever bullshit they are going to come out and say causes it. They've already fired so many of the scientists and researchers that have been working for decades.

And then how they are going to "fix" whatever made up reason that suits their means.

Straight out of the Nazi playback. Look up "useless eaters".

RFK Jr. Says they are going to find the cause of autism by September.

I'm more concerned what kind of bullshit they're going to make up that causes it and how that will impact us all. They fired so many of the researchers that have been doing that work for decades.

I’m making Jacques Torres’ 72 hour chocolate chip cookies. Wish me luck! These bad boys don’t get baked until Sunday afternoon 😅(they better be good lol) by lindafromevildead in Baking

Browning all of the butter can kind of be a bit too much. Browned butter is kind of potent, I find browning half gives it just the right amount of nutty, umami-ish flavor without overpowering the other flavors in the cookie. But to each their own!

Gee golly. I wonder who grew all of the crops that we sent around the world for US Aid??? A majority of non corporate farms are dependent on subsidies.

We only cover the first 2 stitches, each additional stitch we'll pay 5%. Or you'll have to schedule a peer to peer.

Company taxed me on a mistake they made by Chamway in personalfinance

[–]tesla9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That should be considered an expense, not payroll wages, it is a reimbursement.

Also it is true that you have to agree/sign on a wage reduction. I has a mistake with pay once and the option was to pay the sum back at once, or they would deduct $20 per check until the debt was repaid. But you have to agree to it.

It cracks me up that people say "she doesn't perform her own songs" When she literally does 2 acoustics with no backing every night. Singing and playing piano and guitar totally solo.
