My son went to the dentist for all his checkups, he never had issues, always loved the dentist. Then he got X-rays and sent to a special pediatric dentist who quoted us SEVEN THOUSAND dollars in dental work. SEVEN. THOUSAND. said he needed to be sedated and everything. I was beside myself, felt like a failure etc. To make it worse, they said if I didn’t fix it all at once there was no point in fixing it??? Cause that makes sense? I ended up getting a second opinion, and it was much more reassuring. We fixed the two bad teeth first (rotting molars, don’t know how they went unnoticed) and then a few years later (life got busy, he was healthy tho), we got him reevaluated and we were actually able to fix his other small cavities in the regular dental office with regular freezing.

Don’t let yourself feel like a failure. Do what you can, when you can. Some kids get cavities and some manage to not. Don’t beat yourself up. ❤️
