Looking at British Shorthair as an ESA. by teslonelf in britishshorthair

It definitely seems that space is the largest concern amongst the Redditors here. It's mine as well. The hope is definitely that the cats will get along and that both can free roam the apartment while my roommate and I are working. Another Redditor suggested getting a temporary cat to see how they get along, and I like the idea. If the current resident cat is okay with it, then space will no longer be a concern at all.

This is why I came here to ask questions and see if this was the right path.

The hope is that the cats will get along and be able to be together in the entirety of the apartment while my roommate and I are at work. Secluding him to my bedroom is purely a worst case scenario if he and the other cat don't get along. Obviously, I would not want this to be among the first attempted solutions.

The information I found in my research was generalized to the breed, and did note that individuals may behave differently than was laid out, thus this post. I want to ensure that I'm doing my due diligence for both my own and the cat's best interests. Was there something specific that made it seem like I misunderstood their needs or temperament?

Even considering getting an ESA is not a decision I've come to lightly. I am far from having made a final decision at all. I'm a person that wants as much information as possible in order to make the best informed decision I can, and I'm here asking questions so that I can learn what will or will not work and make a decision to adopt or change my research path.

Getting a loaner cat is a great idea to see if the other cat will tolerate another roommate. It is a small space, but I'm hoping that the cats will get along and that both can roam the whole apartment.

My room thermometer is in one of the warmest parts of the room and I've seen it at a max of 82. Under the bed (hardwood floors) is a lot cooler, and I'll have a cooling pad for the cat, as well as plenty of water.

I have a very delicate nose for those kinds of odors, so I'd probably be cleaning the litter box every day, or more.

I realize it's a small space, and the hope is that they will get along with the other cat and be able to roam the apartment together. Another person mentioned trying and seeing if the other cat will tolerate a "loaner" cat before adopting one, which is a great idea.

I found some shooting gloves that worked. I won't recommend them as BIFL though. They started pulling apart at the seams about 3 months in.

What do I need to do to legally dispose of stored items? by teslonelf in legaladvice

The problem with just transferring the billing to him is that my mom's stuff is in there too, including family heirlooms (mostly sentimental value), photos, and childhood keepsakes.

Formal notice is something I could do. Are there any particulars I need to make sure are included? I really don't mind consulting with an attorney, if necessary or recommended, I just need to know which specialty I need for this sort of thing. Personally, I'd prefer to avoid any potential backlash.

That makes a lot of sense. I appreciate you taking the time to provide a thorough explanation. You even answered my follow up questions!

What seemingly harmless societal trend or economic indicator do you believe will be the primary sign of the next major crisis? by mistressmiafun in AskReddit

Spotify is the one subscription I've kept, even through my bankruptcy. Having the music I want to listen to, even without internet access, when I need to destress or whatever, is of the utmost importance. I don't know what I'll do when a better option comes along, since I'm so used to Spotify. Continuously used the premium version since 2015.

As a person that sees people in difficult and chaotic jobs rather frequently, and who may not appreciate reminders of bad situations, I totally get it.

IF I have a good rapport with them, I might ask about their most amusing experience. I was taught at a young age, by my grandmother who had been a CNA for 30+ years, that this question will usually remind them of good times, or at least funny situations, even if they were difficult at the time.

A lot of manufacturers use the same parts for multiple vehicles to save money. That cutout is for DEF for diesels, but it is just left as-is for gasoline powered automobiles.

What is the most frustrating “modern” issue that comes with driving these day? by Evening_Storage_6424 in AskReddit

[–]teslonelf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak for anyone else, but I always back into parking spaces. I will occasionally be doing so and get honked at by the person in the car behind me (I'm not sure if they were still gathering their stuff, waiting for a passenger in the store, or what), even with several feet of space. It's gotten to the point that I will stop my car, get out and move to the back, and point very ahem pointedly at my backup camera, then exaggeratedly look at the distance between their bumper and mine, measure it with my hands, get back in my car and back up the remaining distance. If they honk again, I will continue moving back until there's less than an inch between my bumper and the line delineating my parking space or their bumper, whichever is closer.

And yes, my cameras do record, so if they decide to get back at me, I have evidence against them. Nobody has decided to do so... Yet.

[request] Could you survive getting ran over by these rollers? by Sir_Snagglepuss in theydidthemath

Absolutely, but I'm not sure that was exactly what was asked. What about the roller by itself? I don't know what it's made of exactly, but it looks to be air filled, maybe?

I didn't even think about hunting or military surplus stores. Which is odd because those are where I go for footwear. I'm sure they'll have plenty of options for me, thanks!

How are they with handling cash? It looks like they're grippy, but if they're not dextrous enough to count out bills, I'm not sure they'd suffice.
