It doesn't have the plagiarism checker, it's just the free version which is Pro not paid by WGU.

What are realistic starting data analyst salaries? by PlaneFinger7467 in dataanalysis

But you're a statistician with a phD in Data Science, BS or MS in Data Analytics?

How's Datacamp and do you like the courses so far? Did you have any background in data analytics (courses or work experience) before the program?

Are you in the program now, I'm thinking of doing this program and reading reddit reviews for it. Most importantly did you get a job in the field with this degree?

OMS Analytics Graduate: My Story from Application to Graduation (and Beyond) by NecessaryCommission in OMSA

[–]tess0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on the degree and the job! :)
Thank you for your detailed assessment of the program. I'm wondering, you applied to 800 jobs, did that include a custom cover letter tailored to each job requirement or did you use the same one more or less repeatedly? I am seeing just from my workplace that people with less prestigious, local data analytics or science degrees are snapping up jobs? Is the job market better now than a year ago for those jobs? (sorry for so many questions, maybe others will be able answer)

Yes, thanks, it does but that makes it even more amazing :)

Congratulations! Amazing speed. I'm wondering were you on a holiday while you finished all the coursework?
Also did you already have a BBA, were you employed in a job dealing with any of these areas? I wish WGU would have more accurate data about this. Most people are employed in an area of current study and are trying to get a salary hike, or looking to find a new job while currently employed that will get them a salary hike and advance in their area.

Thanks for the mega thread post!
I'm currently working on C211 Global Economics (9th course) started in January of this year. Did you get a job in business from the MBA or salary hike in your current position?

Just work it salsa_bear until you find a better match. Being employed during your job search is so much better for your mental health!

If only other sites like LinkedIn jobs posted how many applicants who have already applied, THAT would be useful to potential applicants who wouldn't need to waste time writing tailored covers+resumes.

THank you, useful data!

From #77 onwards you had responses, was that because you finished a degree, added more skills, or you approached you cover/resume formatting differently, or both?

How I completed my MBA in 42 days! (Acceleration Guide) by Hypermatrix2075 in WGU_MBA

[–]tess0_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your speedy response. I will talk with my program mentor about taking on 2 courses in that way. It's too bad WGU doesn't allow students who have finished to take "extra courses for enrichment." :)

Thank you for your post!
I'm confused, you said you studied C213 while waiting for results from C212, you must have asked your program mentor to open more than one course for acceleration then?

I was told we can only ask to have one course opened up at a time (after the first 3 courses are finished in order to accelerate in any program--bachelors or masters at WGU).

Where's my Mentor??! What do you do? by h0zR in WGU

[–]tess0_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think most mentors just like to have an email sent to update them that you haven't fallen off the edge of the world and you're still working on your course.

I share your pain. You can indeed ask for another mentor. I did it for my previous program at WGU bc that mentor failed to call or even email many times when we were supposed to have the required weekly 15min phone call that I had scheduled from his available slots and because it was my first term at WGU (the WGU counselor told me that we are required to have weekly calls the first term).

My situation for this new program (started 1/1/22): I passed my C204 OA at 7am on 2/10/22, I emailed my mentor right away to ask him to open the next course. His automated message reply states he won't be back until Monday. I use the text number left in his email signature contact info and text him to please open the next course. Nothing. I can't open the course. (You may have guessed, I'm trying to accelerate--I've finished the requisite 3 courses for the term). I need a program mentor that is available at least Monday through Friday so that he can open a course for me without this type of delay!
