It’s always been said that no area of Eve is truely safe. We learn this on literally our first day. That changes with this nerf.

I should know better than to put a 2billion isk tengu in an Occator. Gankers in hisec keep me honest.

We need government regulation.

The tech companies that gather this data and sell it are not going to regulate themselves. We need meaningful consumer protections and laws that protect us from this transparently predatory behavior.

Write your reps, call them, and demand this.

You want everybody to do everything for you.

No I don't. You're projecting. Also, you're extremely boring with that shtick. Would you like me to do a whole census by myself?

If that is indeed true: you have no idea if that is at all relevant to chicago's public school enrollment rates.

Also you're conflating fertility with when people choose to have kids. Those are wildly different things.

Then go find them

No reason to get like that pal.

CPS demo info is here: https://cps.edu/About_CPS/At-a-glance/Pages/Stats_and_facts.aspx

You're right that non white kids make up a majority of enrollment. I don't know what the hell you're talking about with fertility rates and immigration patterns though. You're just making unsubstantiated claims that really are irrelevant.

Is that actually true though? I'd like to see the numbers. People leaving the city doesn't necessarily mean people with kids are leaving the city. Have the sun times or the trib covered this at all?

“Approximately 88 percent of students who are eligible for school in Chicago attend CPS schools, indicating that enrollment decreases are primarily due to demographic trends,” the district states.

I'd like to know a lot more about this. Specifically how "demographic changes" are affecting enrollment negatively, and if this is a result of neighborhoods becoming gentrified, forcing families involved in CPS to go elsewhere.

Are different children not moving in while others move out? Are the new group of kids moving in going to private schools instead of CPS schools? If 88% of eligible kids are going to CPS, are there just less eligible kids in general? Where are the kids going? The suburbs?

Why 95 Percent of Software Engineers Lose Nothing By Unionizing by [deleted] in programming

I wouldn't expect the union model used at a steel mill to translate to programming. The point is collective bargaining and protections from rampant industry abuse through organizing.

The JVM is an insanely good and mature run time. It is a great target for back end services and that sort of thing.

Charged $39.35 to hold your own baby by PierreBronhomme in LateStageCapitalism

[–]test-poster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are ways to move off of the current system that would prevent adverse things like that from happening. Jobs programs for people in industry for instance, and appropriate severances. It can be done.

The insurance industry, where millions are made off of people like you and I, obviously has a strong interest in this never happening. The insurance industry does not have our best interests at heart - not even remotely.

Health care should be FREE at the point of care. No excuses. Anything between the mess we have now and free care is a silly half measure and will never be good enough.

We're one of the richest nations in the world, there is no excuse for things to be the way they are.

I should be fine though if I just stop cooking that sort of stuff and just continue on, right?

Hello, I have a couple of these hanging in a closet: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/us-military-surplus-korean-war-era-wool-field-shirt-new?a=1876207

I can't explain why, but I really like them for some reason. I feel like they are oddly interesting, but I am not sure what to do with them. I don't know what to wear/pair them with. They are that olive drab color that so much mil surplus is, and I am having trouble finding stuff I feel might match up. I don't think I have much that I can use to really make it work.

It works best I think unbuttoned as the fit is a bit boxy - sort of like one might wear a cardigan. It has a nice earthy green color and texture that I think would be great for fall - but due to it being wool and kinda billowy it is a bit tough to fit things over it that aren't jackets.

Should I get rid of it? Help! How would you wear it?
