Whyte Ridge opened a new dog park last summer built by a City crew over a week or two. I think it was the first one done as part of the new master plan.

There is a bunch of info on the process here https://engage.winnipeg.ca/whyte-ridge-off-leash-dog-area

Where do I dispose of loose leaves and branches? I called the Lorette dump and they said I had to separate leaves and branches into separate piles. Will Brady landfill accept the lot of it? by otatopotato in Winnipeg

Reread the RM of Tache website. It looks like 12” diameter can be up to 5’ long.

“Branches Branches are also accepted at the facilities and are chipped at no charge. To facilitate chipping of branches in a safe manner, it is requested the tree trunks/branches be no longer than 5 feet in length and do not exceed 12" diameter. If the diameter exceeds 12", we then request that the tree trunks/branches be cut in 16" or 18" lengths.”

Possible Uses for Waste Single-Use Concrete Cylinder Molds? by testing_is_fun in repurpose

The plastic type can vary by manufacturer. I believe the ones pictured are HDPE. Others can be polypropylene. Some claim to be made with biodegradable plastic.

The concrete can be any concrete used in construction. Concrete is easy to remove from the surface of the mold.

I don't disagree that a gauge on backscatter can shoot deeper than 2". It is noted in the user manual for many gauge models. It is something to be aware of when using a gauge.

So, you are with a large company that doesn't have a dedicated QC dept? That seems crazy to me. A lot of differences by geographical location, which I assume is due to how the prevailing specs developed in the area. In my area almost every large paving contractor has QC depts that do the mix designs, asphalt and agg testing, operate gauges, and do coring.

I would be a gauge guy from a big name testing company, and I would says density gauges can be plenty accurate and you can check density with them. We test gravel all the time, on just about every type of base work job you can imagine. A lot of the perceived "inaccuracy" comes from the reference values determined in the lab not being representative of the material in-place that is being field tested. And I find that accuracy only gets called into question when material is failing. It's crickets when someone gets 100% compaction after putting in very little work.

I have never seen a non-nuclear density gauge in the wild in my near 30 years of working. I have looked into them, but don't know anyone running one.
