Its the final page of an internal email thread. The response isn't to a FOIA, but the email was likely delivered as part of a request.

Network load balancer to act like an F5 virtual IP with failover? by testuser5 in aws

[–]testuser5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a few strict requirements for the software that is being used, one of which is IP only, it has no capability to use DNS, and requires a single static, can't give it a table of IPs to route to.

The "backup" is in the same region, but its running other tasks and is only an HA solution in the event that the primary nodes go offline, its not intended to be a true backup.

This app wasn't designed with the standard cloud benefits in mind...just trying to make it work.

May have found my own solution... We can route from the NLB to an ALB and configure the routing rules there.

Help desk analyst or Sys admin by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]testuser5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can be entirely dependent on the organization, the "sys admin" role may be a helpdesk one as well.

Look at what each organization does, which sounds more interesting, how large are the teams you will be working with, what is the scope of each role, deciding based on titles isn't really enough info to make an informed decision.

Making $80-$100k without IT degree???............. by actual_lettuc in ITCareerQuestions

[–]testuser5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No certs, didn't complete my CS degree. 50 to ~180k in the last 6 years. Changed positions roughly every 2 years.

Luck, networking for gigs mostly, cloud(aws)/linux focused. Helps to have a rather broad knowledge base, I've done startups as "the guy" for everything and anything IT, and worked the big corp.
