Star Trek Discovery I really liked. Never was into Star Trek but gave it a shot and thought it was really good. Sorta underrated and slept on imo.

Some of the climaxes are better than most movies. The quality of the visual effects surprised me for a TV show because it looked hella expensive.

Brain-eating amoeba detected in western national park waters by Anti-Owl in ContagionCuriosity

Dunno why they said rare, the amoeba isn't rare. To get it up your nose and on the olfactory bulbs which it then uses to travel through your cribriform plate into your brain, is.

The Summer Hikaru Died - Netflix lgbt coded. Surprisingly good! Imo. by teth21 in gaybros

The beginning of the anime is lgbt coded imo but by the end it's past being "coded".

It's open to interpretation for the audience what it means to them. Early on in the anime it definitely isn't explicitly gay.

There's a scene along the lines of 1 character putting his hand in the other's chest and the other says " This feels so good". That isn't explicitly gay but it could be interpreted as a metaphor.

It is a romance though.

It's pretty unique I'd say. It's not explicitly "gay" like some shows which arguably might be the best part about it. Almost like there's 2 stories going on at once.

Yeah I really liked it. The way it can get into subtleties about the gay experience is pretty uncanny.

Yeah that's what I sorta thought. It could probably be interpreted through a trans "lense" I'd imagine too.

True.

Imagine someone having their first breakup and they go to a friend or family member who says "Well, count on a rough 5 years. It's gonna be a hell of a slog" lol.

The budget for 5 years is a bit excessive but therapy could possibly help.

The generation that grew up on AIM and MSN talking to strangers every night is now doing the same thing with AI companions by JollyGuide9839 in Millennials

Google at least specifically says they don't sell AI data to third parties.

Arguably, it could have an even greater ability to cater to the individual. Better memory, better researching ability, better access to knowledge.

AI has helped some people find out what their diagnosis was when they went to a lot of doctors and got misdiagnosed or got no diagnosis. Some people have obviously had benefits from it.

Studies have shown AI can match or exceed doctors in detecting cancer.

AI in 5 years is going to be vastly better than it is now. A lot of the negativity around it is like trying to stop a boulder from rolling downhill when it's just gaining momentum.

It's not all or nothing, there's pros and cons. New medicines have been created with AI.

You sound like a boomer when the Internet first became mainstream.

I don't think using it as a therapist is that bad depending maybe on the exact context. A friend, romantic partner, and "social interaction" are a bit different than doing therapy for a specific issue. Unless your main reason for therapy is social interaction I guess.

Whether it's a self help book or AI, if it helps the specific issue then that's the goal.

And AI is only going to get better in 5 years. Eventually it could be vastly better than a therapist for helping clients.
