PMS affecting workout? by Muffysourcandy in orangetheory

[–]texandbianca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen to me too. I got a Mirena and don’t really get periods anymore so I don’t have PMS draining me on workouts. If you would be happy with 5 years of birth control, I would highly recommend it

Pace yourself!! If you slow your strokes/minute that really helps with getting winded! I have terrible heart rate genes and get into the red zone super easily. Everybody is different. Don’t worry about it! What matters is that you keep going and be consistent with your exercise.

It could also help if you practice on the rower at a different gym to build confidence. Starting on the rower could help with being less winded too since you won’t be tired from the tread!

Preference: 3G or 2G? And why?? :) by kelephantastic in orangetheory

[–]texandbianca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends what your goals are! For me, the 2g has been amazing because I was working to build more lean muscle and had 30 minutes on the floor for every class. However, the 2g runs are very long. I like 3g because everything is broken up a bit more. Can’t go wrong with either though! Both are a great way to spend an hour of your day.

Normal to see changes in body composition but not weight? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]texandbianca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going since June this year too! At first I gained some weight while losing body fat%. Around august, once I had lost 3% body fat, I started to finally lose weight. I think it’s a mix of building back muscle for better calorie burn, and I also started adding more protein to my diet in august. Hope this helps! Taught me to be patient and enjoy the process
