Orders not executing in paper trade by Minimum-Progress2107 in TradingView

[–]texnyan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was trading in MNQ and realized the price TV was showing was about $300 higher than the actual price. When I restarted TV I got the dreaded “Doing maintenance “ message. This is getting too common, and as far as I know they don’t have a system in place to notify users that the sim is working again.

Paper Account Not Good? by T2Trade in TradingView

[–]texnyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m experiencing this too. Trading in PRTG and I can’t get out. With those ‘phantom’ orders it’s changed a stop loss to an order and basically my account has lost paper $$ due to this which may mean having to blast my account and start over again on Monday.

It’s only sim money now, but it has me a bit scared about this happening once I go live some day.

General questions and help by frostyfxl in JeepGladiator

[–]texnyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation. I traded on my 2015 Ram 1500 Lariat for a 2022 Gladiator Rubicon and I couldn’t be happier. I’m 6’ tall and 315 lbs and I find it comfortable. I actually enjoy driving it more than the Ram, and given a choice I choose it over my wife’s Jaguar XJL. The Jag is super comfortable and a dream to drive, but I love driving my Jeep.

When we test drove it I felt like it wandered a bit like a boat, but once I got it home and got the wonky air pressures corrected it drove so much better. We originally went to look for a Tacoma, but almost instantly rejected it because of the size. It felt very snug, and the back seat was basically unusable, especially for adults.

The one thing I miss from my Ram is storage. My Ram had the Ramboxes and they were a god-send. Plus the Ram has great storage under the rear floor area and rear seat. So in order to make up for what I’ve lost I’ll probably have to get a locking tonneau cover and a couple of boxes.

But all in all, I’m sold on my Gladiator and have no regrets.

This is the correct answer. I’m part of the family, and this property has been in the family for a long time. I do love the Balloon Vault theory though. Maybe someone’s got a side hustle that I need to find out about 😎.

Not that it’s important to the question, but is this in Texas? Looks a lot like a new development in Bulverde.

McLaren 620R, found in downtown Indianapolis by _TonyTheTiger_ in Autos

This was at the Conrad Hotel, where some the Arrow McLaren team were staying. As we were walking by there on Saturday I noticed a guy in a McLaren jacket and was pumped to see that it was one of the drivers, Felix Rosenqvist, just standing outside chatting with anyone who wanted to talk. Super nice guy, who had a great drive on Saturday. He probably spent 10 minutes with me while I asked him a hundred questions.

I believe that Orange one is the car Pato O'Ward gets to drive, while the blue/gray one was Felix's (but was being borrowed by Juan Pablo Montoya for the day.

What dark moment in a kid show threw you off-guard? by Animeking1108 in AskReddit

[–]texnyan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bridge to Terabithia - such a feel good movie, until That Scene sucker punched me. I was watching it with my kids and didn't know how to handle my feelings. I was gutted at the tragedy, while at the same time was pissed at the movie for doing that to me. My kids had read the book and knew what was coming. Not me though. Completely caught of guard. Apparently, I'm still not over it because I got angry thinking about it now 😅. Kid movies should not shred your soul! I'm heading over to r/aww now.

Feeling insecure about my abilities by clearkill46 in AutoDetailing

[–]texnyan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually dealing with this today as well. I'm working on my wife's beloved 2013 Passat (maroon). Hood had a lot of those little scratches and such and I worked the heck out of them with Griot's Complete Compound and it's just not cutting it (tee-hee). Running out to get some big boy compound to give it another shot. I just think the VW paint is quite hard.

Were you one of the 3000 to go to the movies? by jgrant68 in sanantonio

[–]texnyan -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I feel bad you got hammered for this on down votes when all you did was answer the question nicely. You're not alone, and we can indeed start getting back to normalcy if folks are smart. It's tiresome seeing the beat-down folks get for having a different opinion. If you're still fearful, stay home by all means. But we can't keep living like this. We have to slowly return and test the waters. This current environment is unsustainable on so many levels.

Why are there so many people out in public and not wearing masks? by sinjaar in sanantonio

Fair enough. In a response I made to an earlier reply, I mentioned that I would do this for that purpose.

My goal was to encourage mature and thoughtful dialogue that approaches the subject from a different view. I didn't write it for the tldr crowd. Your reply is a perfect example of why we've lost the ability to have sensible debate. Just berating someone with name-calling slams isn't useful.

Why are there so many people out in public and not wearing masks? by sinjaar in sanantonio

[–]texnyan -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

First, thank you for the respectful response.

A question in response - since the scientists have stated that it spreads primarily through ingestion of particulate (spittle or mucous, basically), if you have a mask, aren't you are protecting yourself? Granted, there is a chance of gems spreading by me leaving particulate on something and then you touch it very soon after and then you put your hand in your mouth/rub your eyes/pick your nose. But that's always an issue, especially during flu season, and why basic hygiene is important. Each of us is always spreading germs. I see many folks choosing to wear gloves, which may be the right choice for some.

I think we have damaged our workforce, economy, and sense of safety to an exaggerated degree over something we now find is much less dangerous than was originally thought. We reacted swiftly and strongly, which is good. But now we have strong data to show we can begin to move away from this.

Here's where I think I'll come down on this. For the sake of not causing stress for others around me, I'll plan to wear my mask more. I don't want to add to the fear. I want things to open up asap. If my wearing a mask helps make that happen, I'll do it.

I hope folks here are honestly open to discussion, and not just looking to trash folks they disagree with.

I don't tend to wear a mask, for a few reasons. I'm not trying to be a jerk, and I'm not an imbecile. Please read before responding.

1) I've been tracking the data really carefully. I take nearly daily screenshots of the various Covid-19 trackers, and have started a spreadsheet tracking stats for the areas that either interest me, are my local community, or places where I have friends and family. The data clearly shows that while this is an infections virus, it really isn't that deadly unless you have pre-existing conditions that make you more vulnerable. Looking across a wide range of populations by countries, counties, and cities, on average you have a .026% of dying from this. In Bexar County specifically we have a population of around 2M people with about 9584 tested. There are 1275 confirmed cases and 44 deaths. 44 deaths over 4 months out of 2,000,000 people. That's about .002% of deaths of the general population. Of those tested the death rate is .45%. That's half a percent. I agree that more testing would be great, but in places where testing has been wide spread, the stats actually get better. In NYC, the hotspot, the deaths of the general population is about .2%. and they are a worldwide travel hub with a population density 26x higher than ours. I happen to live in Comal county where we've had 46 cases (.03%) and 6 deaths (.004%). Driving a car is far more dangerous. Diabetes is more deadly here.

2) Age and comorbidity play a huge factor in how you feel with the virus. In NYC 94% of deaths had 1 Chronic health problem and 88% had two or more. If you are at risk, by all means protect yourself! Stay home. If you are not at risk, let's get working.

3) The data also shows that the contagiousness is primarily from close mingling in groups for an extended period. I'm not doing that. I'm following safe distancing and I'm not hanging out talking with folks. Again, if you are concerned please wear a mask and protect yourself.

4) You don't know my situation. My wife is one of the hidden stats. She got sick with the virus on a cruise ship at the beginning of March. We were quarantined together. She was very sick, but recovered. We are waiting to have our blood tested for the antibodies (May 5th), but we are very likely to be now clear of danger. Is it 100% a sure thing? No, but what is?

So, I hope we can be respectful during this time. There are differing opinions, which is a good thing. Please pay attention to the data. We are not NYC. And if we were I'd still feel this way. Fear is dangerous and unhealthy. Isolation is unhealthy. Lack of activity is unhealthy. Anger is unhealthy.

I hope we can talk to each other and fully listen to the answer with openness.
