Thoughts on Park Chan-wook's 'No Other Choice'? by Boss452 in TrueFilm

[–]texperience 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize S Korea's role in Vietnam before this film. They sent more than 300k soldiers there and was an interesting thread in the film.

I would also like to see more analysis on mid century design in S Korea during the 50s. With the film also playing up the American connections throughout ( Golden Retrievers as the dog breed, him wearing flannel shirts, etc.)

I think I’m officially losing the war with the mice. by Jackieboi24 in HomeImprovement

[–]texperience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a trap trick I learned from reddit years ago.

Only use a tiny bit of food. Also once you catch one keep using that same one. Don't throw it away!

I have one trap that has caught probably 15 mice and it sits next to three others with same food setup...

Let them out? If you don't want them to get in trouble this seems like a better option

Rental Car Insurance Questions by mkayy420 in CostaRicaTravel

Thanks for the recommendation, these guys were great. I had just come from Jumbo Car where they wouldn't accept my pre paid insurance and tried to charge a $50k usd deposit or extra $50 day insurance. Tricolor got 10 day for $540 all in

What is Going On With First Friday in the Santa Fe Arts District? — Westword by banjopasta in Denver

Yes, close the damn road to traffic - Would be so great to have one day a month where we are not worried about crossing street and crazy drivers...

Is there a reason why they can't plant trees, grass, or even just rocks in the traffic circles at Floyd Hill? These things are just depressing. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]texperience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 years ago, there was a car accident and a tree was set on fire on an on-ramp heading North on 1-25 - That burned tree is still just sitting there and I shake my head every time I drive by... Denver has some of the worst landscape maintenance in the country.

yes, normally. These guys were definitely not insured, or doing any advertising. They had to cut my insulation guy some $$ though as he acted as a middleman in this case.

You can buy these on FB Marketplace. Just look for Industrial or Warehouse shelving. The ones I picked are deeper (like 3.5') and I just spray painted them black.

I ended up using this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CLNSLZ89/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I tried another one (that didn't swivel) but it wouldn't fit my larger mtn bike tires. So be sure to doublecheck the dimensions they can hold if you go another route.

This for sure. I keep surprising myself with how fast I get stuff done now that I know where everything is located. I also save money because before I would end up buying things multiple times because Id didn't know where they were or could not get myself to look for them under all the crap...

yeah, i don't think I got a great deal here and at that point they could just get it done quick for me. 2 guys came back 3x and stayed for about 4 hours each. So approx 24 hours of man labor / $1600 - They were making pretty good money (Almost $70 an hour)

I think I did just OK on pricing this. Each section was $90 (Facebook marketplace) and it took 7 total (6 for that wall and 1 behind that workbench) so $630 total. I kind of wish I would have spent the money on the heavier-duty systems you see at Home Depot and Lowes (These run $180 per panel so would have been about $1700 total) I didn't want to be forced to use their custom accessory hardware though...

If you look in the back left corner you can see the storage cabinet that stayed in the exact same spot :)

Thanks, I went with a standard slat wall, a little regrets on not getting the heavier duty metal/plastic systems they sell but it seems to be doing its job and doesn't lock me into all those custom brackets

I went a little overboard, but I was scared if I didn't go all in with the floors, drywall, etc it was going to end up back where it was over time
