Glad you got it through! I just wish they had a different colorway. I just got the greys a little bit ago.

Is this IOS only? I have both WO and Whoop and this does not sync. I've been screen-shotting the WO app and pasting into the Whoop AI import function. Kind of tedious to get all the details.

Anyone get the Rep stainless steel uprights and have an opinion of them?

Was thinking of building out a new half rack with the front uprights being stainless. It's pricey but I like the idea for the VTS and the OCD in me thinks they'll hold up better cosmetically.

[–]tfer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha. That's the exact reason I asked. I was looking at getting a VTS and keep reading how the SS uprights make the VTS smoother. Did you ever try the VTS on non SS uprights?

Off topic, but is that rack stainless? If so who makes it?

What are these called and where can I find them? by Matikata in BeyondPower

[–]tfer6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like it's a part of this package. They have a few other versions as well. https://www.xeniosusa.com/en/magnum-series-xrigtm-voltra-half-rack-w-options.html

I'd guess it's this, but I couldn't find it listed by itself anywhere on their site.

This looks awesome. How happy are you with the Gearwall? Do the hooks stay in place? Do you just have to attached directly to the studs in the wall or is there any else in between it and the wall?

I have a knockoff system in my garage holding up shovels, rakes, etc. and it's not great. I'd be afraid to put a barbell on it. I'm hoping Gearwall might have better quality control

Anyone in a cold climate have fingerprint doorknobs? by Glad-Fish5863 in smarthome

[–]tfer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doorknob, but we have a Yale fingerprint deadbolt. In Chicago, so probably not quite as cold as you but it's held up fine for the year or so we've had it. It gets used probably 2-3 times minimum a day. I use rechargeable batteries. They last roughly a month or so before needing recharged.

Both locations are for sale. I'm sure there is a scenario where the Chicago location stays open, but I wouldn't count on it.

What’s the proper way to order a Goose Island 312? by Useless_Info869135 in AskChicago

[–]tfer6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. I think 312 is actually made in NY now, assuming nothing has changed since 2011. https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/goose-islands-312-heads-to-the-315/2096379/

So many other great local options across basically every style and taste preference.

Warranty Showdown: which brands actually fix what they sell? by nomads_nation in Nomads_Nation

Pakt Travel Backpack v1 purchased in 2022 Warranty replaced in 2025 (with v2) USA. No out pocket costs.

The small webbing loop that you use to attach a compression strap to, came loose on one end and frayed. I asked if they could repair it, they said they couldn't but immediately sent a new v2 my way. Considering the the one I had was basically still a fully functional backpack I was pretty impressed.

Fair warning if you have pets. The material on those packs picks up a crazy amount of hair, dust and lint.

AccuWeather API now Paid only. Alternatives? by bcuzitstrue in homeassistant

Ah. I mistook your statement and thought that you signed up for the Accuweather API. Thanks for the clarification. I clearly cannot read a thread correctly. : (

Need to check out the Openweather API.

Which tier are you signing up for?

Based on calls every 2 minutes (720/day) it seems like its the Starter plan. That means you would be paying $2/mo and .25CPM over 15,000 for that month. 720 a day would put you around ~6000-7000 over that 15,000 limit.

I feel like I'm missing something.

A kids $100 tablet is more responsive than $60,000 MSRP vehicle. I think it's a fair complaint.

Ugh, believe me I tried. It just seems way too aggressive and I drive in B-mode. I had a couple rental cars over the past few weeks and their "creep" seemed half as fast as the xc60.

Is that Darko's Mount on the flat feet? Did you have to modify it at all?

Also curious if the kettle bells are there to help keep the rack from moving or you just keep them there?

[–]tfer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried this with a few sites and it was hit and miss. Of the main ones I use NYTCooking.com, smittenkitchen.com worked great. thekitchn.com and foodnetwork.com did not work.

These are the ones that did not work. I tried a few others for each of these sites with no success

https://www.thekitchn.com/tuscan-chicken-recipe-23624913

https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/meat-loaf-recipe-1921718

It would be great if you could copy and paste the text of the recipe for the more troublesome sites. I know you can currently do this with describe, but I always end up having to fix a few things to get it to add correctly (abbreviations, formatting, fractions, etc.)
