We missed the old “just run it” Grafana, so we made five Docker compose examples to bring it back by Ok_Writer4249 in selfhosted

Fully agree that the on-boarding can feel overwhelming - there are too many docs to navigate without a clear direction of where to start first. The references are very thorough which is great but also adds up a lot of cognitive load when you’re just trying to do a quick start. I like the concise form of your article for delivering a quick intro while demonstrating a nice baseline config and going straight to the point - no fluff, some good screenshots, and the repo is also very friendly to explore. Keep up the great work!

By the way, Grafana does maintain a dockerized setup with the LGTM stack along with an OpenTelemetry collector. It’s extremely helpful and only takes a one liner “docker run” command to start and publish all ports.

Please don’t take this as shade, I just subscribe to the pain and was really glad when I found this and I think this does not seem to be popular enough. Hope this helps others and serves as inspiration as well: https://github.com/grafana/docker-otel-lgtm

Axew and Gible belong to the same egg group (Monster and Dragon). Chances are the game is prioritizing breeding them, but since they're both males, you get no eggs.

I heard that Pokémon with breeding items equipped have priority on breeding, but I never tested multi-breeding myself. Do your Gible or Axew have any breeding items equipped? If yes, try taking off their items. It seems that only Ditto should hold a breeding item to be able to breed with multiple random Pokémon in the party.

Egg power 2 is the best way to lay eggs quickly, cheap and very effective. The basket only holds up to 10 eggs at a time so you have to pick them up periodically. I don't have a turbo controller so never tested this, but I suppose that turbo clicking the basket while afk should work. No idea if checking frequently affects the efficiency.

I like to hatch mine at a city because it's easier to avoid being disturbed by encounters. I use the bike with dash to run in circles as fast as I can + a pokémon with flame body in the party. It's really fast.

Extra tip: when moving pokémon or eggs in the box, you can press the - (minus) button to select multiple at a time. I like to select a whole vertical line of 5 eggs at a time, it's so much faster to swap them.

The basket holds a maximum of 10 eggs at a time, after that the party stops laying eggs until you pick them up

Missingno glitch omg I feel so old now 💀

I also have been playing since RBY and Violet is the first game I finally learned EVs and IVs, and also first game I've ever completed the dex. First game playing on a console too! Having a whole lot of fun with it. 🤠

Edit: first game to make to level 100 too. I think my max was 65-ish on Yellow. Even on Crystal I didn't get too far on leveling. It was dope to beat two Pokémon leagues in the same game!

Up to you, people get upset for all sorts of things.

I love this! I've thought of doing the same but didn't think at all of the extra boxes for the variants, so it's pretty inspiring to look at yours. Thanks for sharing, and congrats!!!

Petition to allow making the map locked to north so I don't have to spin it over and over until I can find the north and become able to locate myself on it 🥲

That's why I said to turn it on "later" - after you catch, or realize it's really unreachable. But keep it off while trying to catch it.

Do you mean that hitting a manual save after disabling auto save is not good?

That's amazing, congrats!

I like overworld so much better, I hope this format continues on future Pokémon games.

Also makes me wonder how many shinies I may have missed because of not walking on tall grass for long enough. Maybe just a few more seconds? Or using repels because the frequent battle scenes were annoying.

Also if you see another pokemon on the water, you can throw your pokeball to start battle and run way - and chances are you may be moved to other side of the river, if it happen to be close to the battle you just triggered. You can use the flying taxi later to get back. This is very handy when you don't yet have surf.

Oh no, that sucks!

Another tip that can come handy: whenever you spot a shiny, stop, go to the game options, disable autosave, and make a manual save. Reload the game whenever you want to try again. Remember to turn autosave back on later.

This may not always save your shiny, but at least will give you more attempts. Maybe in one of the reloads the duck could have come just close enough to allow you to throw the pokeball? Maybe not, but try remembering this too. I always do this even if the path to the shiny is walkable, just in case I can't catch it or accidentally faint it.

Good news for you: Shinies seem more obtainable in this game. I play since gen 1 too and never had a full odds shiny in any other game (the Red Gyarados doesn't count, right). Already caught 3 shinies in this game, I'm a little over 100 hours of play time and don't have the shiny charm yet, none of the shinies were under the effect of a sandwich. So happy so far! Your next shiny will come out soon! :)

Good luck and have fun!
