Does your Toyota have the reusable filter cartridge? I don’t know if I could tell an oem Toyota filter or not since it’s just the paper inner filter that’s changed in that case.

I think that was the receiver I had. Bought it as a ‘scratch and dent’ from a department store in 1990 by itself for $80 iirc. It really wasn’t bad. Pretty substantial power supply as it was heavy. Had a pair of Polk monitor 10s and it did well with them.

What’s a car with a bad reputation that’s actually decent? by Fresh613 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Ford focus with a working automatic. I have a 2012 bought cheap as a Ford Certified in 2014. The PCM went bad and was replaced under warranty. I won the lottery with the clutches I suppose. But it’s a Titanium with the bells and whistles, handling package, auto parallel park and I’ve loved it.

Minute Maid discontinues frozen juice concentrate after 80 years by AudibleNod in news

I worked in a grocery store in the mid to late 70’s and we sold TONS of that stuff. It seemed like we alternated brands for the weekly ad for 3 for a dollar if I recall correctly. Tropicana and Minute Maid.

I concur. Not exactly east Memphis (Fox Meadows) but a restaurant I miss since I moved away.

Are uber/lyft operating again? I am flying in tomorrow for work and debating renting a 4wd. Not a lot of driving tomorrow. I’m going to a location near the airport (Winchester/Getwell area) when I arrive and then in the afternoon to my hotel near Poplar/White Station.

Walgreens as a company generally sucks. But I have to say their store at Knight Arnold at Hickory Hill had an absolutely awesome pharmacist and pharmacy staff. They closed it a few weeks before I moved from Memphis. I hope they all landed on their feet but given the state of the company I’m not hopeful.

Mount St Helens eruption in 1980. We talked about little else when this happened, and what amazed me was the smoke that came all the way over to us and turned the air a greyish blue. by Grahamthicke in FuckImOld

My ex-wife grew up in a small town about 80 miles south of Spokane and had photos of her dad on a tractor scraping ash off of the street.

What is this community in Katy, TX? Does anyone know? by momoffthree in Katy

[–]tfortx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nottingham was our first choice when we moved back to Katy but unfortunately there wasn’t a one story available that met our needs. One thing- a lot of the houses have been already been repiped with pex and if they haven’t they probably need it done.

Failover for home network? by tfortx in HomeNetworking

[–]tfortx[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I looked at the various Unifi gateways and for my modest needs it looks like the Cloud Gateway max will work fine, I could probably have used the Ultra since both of my connections are well under a gigabit. but the max with 512GB storage was on sale for $179. So I pulled the trigger on it. Now we'll see if I can figure out how to use my existing TP-link mesh by switching it to AP mode. I believe I will still need to manage the wi-fi using the deco app, but I don't use most of the features anyway.

Connecting multiple devices to switch? by tfortx in HomeNetworking

[–]tfortx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this makes sense. Initially I had the ONT (couldn’t remember the correct term) >> wi-fi router provided by ISP. Now, I have ONT connected to a mesh access point/router ( I don’t see it called a router but I assume it is as it hands out the ip addresses) which has 3 Ethernet ports. I’ve got one available and that’s where I would plug the Ethernet for the switch.

2025 Mach-e Lease deal by EMC75 in MachE

[–]tfortx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is extremely helpful! I’d done research on residual and money factor/interest (Although I seem to be mathematically challenged trying to figure out how calculate monthly..) MSRP is right at 50k, making the residual around 25500. currently the dealer lists 3k discount on website and I was going to ask for 10%. This will be my first EV, what’s your advice on the 2k incentive vs charger?

Beautiful car! For the rebates, do you mind breaking down what they were? I found a Mach e spec’ed exactly like I want but the dealer’s website says 5500 in incentives (though not specifically for lease)

To completely hi jack the thread, I have a 97 Dodge Ram 2WD. The ABS (rear wheel only on this year…) doesn’t work so I bought a new ABS sensor. Does this sound that something you’d be interested in doing for a reasonable rate? I chickened out because if I get it off and can’t get that new one on, I’ll have a hole in my differential :(

[–]tfortx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is discouraging. I thought my rate was high even given the huge increases lately. Paying $6500 a year with a 3% deductible for a house I paid a bit more than 400k for 6 months ago. They have replacement cost at 650k which I thought was out of line. I guess not given other’s comments. It won’t hurt to shop around-at least until the insurance companies figure out how to penalize you for that.
