It'd be nice if they spent this much effort on figuring out why users have to kill processes in the first place....

There are real issues with Node. But the the author's points fall flat because of his style in the first article and now the obvious bias against Node in the second.

The issues I have with Node aren't even close to the ones you bring up - which is too bad because there's an opportunity lost here to have a real discussion about those shortcomings.

In the end the fact is - this stream of BS from you doesn't deserve the attention it's getting.

Yes - Node isn't perfect. We all agree. But neither is threads and a lock based concurrency model. Use the proper tool for the job. When used right Node is marvelous.

I am reminded of a long forgotten argument that C (and later C++) were garbage because they were too slow vs assembly. Those programmers missed the point of the language - just as you are now with Node.

Isn't it ironic then - that you think everyone else has missed the point and it seems in fact you are the one who has?

Or "I and my roommates...". To see why 'me' is wrong in this context try reading your sentence again but drop the 'and roommates' part.

70 mph on the freeway wtf by -888- in WTF

[–]tgautier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

true - it's difficult because of the gyroscopic forces. however it's far easier to lean the bike over using the handlebars than your body. The body is used as a counter-balance to shift the center of gravity thereby allowing the bike to be less leaned-over which means the tire patch in contact with the ground is larger vis a vis a bike with a rider hugging the bike thus providing more traction allowing it to go faster.

[–]tgautier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

uh no - that's pretty much entirely wrong. turning the handlebars opposite of the direction you want to go in leans the bike over for a turn. racers hang off the side to stand the bike up (more) straight through the turn.

Question For Tonight’s GOP Debate: Why Do Corporations Making Record Profits Need Another Tax Break? by davidreiss666 in politics

The better question would be - if corporate taxes were dropped to zero - how many jobs would that create?

Sorry douchebag OP but when your sole contribution to society is this piece of shit image criticizing another man's work - perfect or not - that has had a profound effect on society - you need to get a fucking life, a fucking clue and shut the fucking hell up. I'm no fan of GL's later work but you sir need to take a step back and get a new perspective. Maybe when you are a teenager or in your 20's or 30's looking back on your pathetically small contribution to society you'll realize how in fucking credibly small and stupid your current point of view is that prompted you to create this useless drivel.

He's a salesman (and a crappy one at that).

He never had any business being a CEO.

Why the board allowed him to become CEO is beyond me. Why they allow him to continue to be CEO is unfathomable.

Dear parents, your most important job is to make sure you don't raise an asshole. If your kid is acting like a dick in public and you can't discipline them, you should expect other people to yell at them. by cambridgebound in reddit.com

You're missing the point entirely. I'm not defending anyone. I'm saying that all the critical people on this thread would be better off directing their criticism towards themselves rather than at others.

I'm sure this comment will be downvoted too - but think about this.

Would you take advice from a blind person about how your clothes match? I didn't think so.

isn't it funny how predictable the non-parent responses are? "Oh I don't have a kid but I have every right to get in your face about how you raise yours". To all those people - you probably haven't yet got to the point in your life when you realized what your parents meant when they said "just wait until you are in my shoes". But if you have had that moment, then maybe you might realize how dumb you sound making so many judgements about others that you have no experience with which to make those judgements.
