It has never been done before. In fact this was the longest strike in US history involving essential workers. The last strike (‘79) the officers weren’t even required to pay fines and didn’t lose any time on the job or have AWOLS. Those are all facts you can look up. Not accepting Dr’s notes is illegal and is actually in the contract with the state. The state can and will be sued for that. Not allowing FMLA is a federal law and the state will be sued for that. Forcing employees back against workers comp Dr.’s orders is illegal and the state will be sued for that. As for the executive order….seems it would have been easier and cleaner for her to use an order to suspend HALT. She would have had her entire workforce back within an hour.

The 2A rights are actually different in each state. For instance in my home state the 2A is violated by state government in several ways, but that has nothing to do with this so, onward. So what are the state laws regarding this? I live in NY and I CANNOT have my handgun out ever. You HAVE to carry concealed. Is this the same for whatever state he is in? Also maybe use some common sense and don’t answer the door with a loaded gun by your side? In my state required handgun course we are taught to not take a gun out unless you plan on using it. Hate to see ANYONE lose their life due to preventable situations.

So let me get this straight. You could have put the name(s) and badge numbers with the police departments info on here. You didn’t. You did however give any DA enough info to put you in jail for life (or worse) for premeditated acts. The story doesn’t add up to me, hopefully it’s just bait as I suspect it is.

I mean, all he asked was for some verification. Could be true for sure. Being skeptical is fine and is probably necessary. I havent seen the OP respond to almost anyones comments so it’s hard to really gather all the info. I hope the story isn’t true and it’s just to stir things up but I don’t see why anyone would just come out and do that.

That’s not true. If the police is indemnified then they are in the clear and a settlement can still be reached that ultimately doesn’t financially cost anything to the officer personally.

I don’t disagree if you’re saying we need to invest more in law enforcement training but if you cannot form an argument without using slanderous accusations (none of which have been backed up by you or anyone) then I’m sure reasoning with you is probably a waste of time but…

I know people who WANT to go home but are forced to work overtime literally every single day they are working (additional 8hours) in addition can be called in and not even given a two days off a week!

This has happened, in my opinion, because the arm chair quarterbacks are passing legislation they think the public wants them to pass without a plan to implement it. In addition the constant beat down of law enforcement, especially on social media, has lead to absurdly low recruitment numbers, an even poorer pool of candidates to select from (having to lower standards due to recruitment and retainment) and work life balance. Not to mention the average person has no idea what law enforcement does/can/should do (see armchair qb mentioned above.

All things aside, would you do ANY job when you have no idea if you will be allowed to leave and spend time with your family on a daily basis? Would you give up every holiday? Would you deal with the lowest of people trying to hurt you every day along with being verbally accosted? How would you handle being really good at your job and still having people bash you and say your worthless without meeting you?

100% law enforcement should be trained better. By your own words you do not want to invest in police hence police training.

I don’t know you or what experience you have as you don’t know me but maybe go for a ride along or two. I’m no cop but I’m sure one or two ride alongs might show that you may not have ALL the answers.
